Update: omg the taali is awesome too.
Went with two friends and loved it! I got the Breakfast Combo (one vada, one puri, one idli, and upma) — everything tasted fresh and homestyle. My friends enjoyed the Veg Thali and Dosa–Idli Combo too.
Great portions and truly comforting South Indian food!
On the positive side, the service was good and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the visit pleasant. With better consistency, fresher servings, and improved portion balance, this place has a lot of scope to improve and could become one of the best South Indian restaurants in the vicinity if done right.
We then tried to order combos, only to find out they were out of those as well. At that point, the available menu options were extremely limited. Since we were already seated, we ordered a few tiffins, but they turned out to be poorly prepared and badly presented. Honestly, the presentation was so underwhelming that it felt like something we could have done better at home.
The most unacceptable thing came when we asked for more rice for the single thali and we were told they had no rice left. A South Indian restaurant running out of rice is simply not acceptable.
Overall, the long wait, lack of food availability, poor presentation, and even basic staples being unavailable made this a very frustrating experience. It felt like the restaurant was still accepting customers despite not having the supplies to serve them properly, possibly trying to squeeze out orders rather than deliver quality. People come here for good food and a proper dining experience—if that can’t be provided, it’s better to stop seating customers and be honest about the situation. I genuinely feel I wasted my money here.
Finally, a place in Phoenix where I can enjoy authentic Punjabi chole bhature—and where my toddler happily enjoys every meal too. A must-try!
Very friendly service. Went out of the way to suggest specials of the day.
One unique thing is menu is available only as a scan of a QR code.
Vada was excellent (5/5), and idly was soft and well-cooked (4/5). Tomato chutney was flavorful, but coconut chutney was watery. Sambar was disappointing and lacked authentic flavor. Onion rava dosa wasn’t crispy and had very little heat. Mango lassi was bland. Veg thali was average kesari and dal were good, but the curries were just okay okay.
Main issue: Almost all dishes were served lukewarm, not hot, which really affected the experience.
Service was quick and efficient, and the staff were friendly and courteous. The interior, however, could benefit from some updates to enhance the overall dining experience.
