Samurai Sushi – A Rejuvenating Asian Feast in Alaska
After a long day of exploring Alaska, we were craving something comforting and flavorful—Samurai Sushi delivered exactly that. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, setting the tone for a great dining experience.
Our party of seven was seated right away, and the service remained friendly and attentive throughout. We ordered a variety of dishes including the salmon teriyaki bento box, tuna and salmon sashimi, chirashi, galbi, and tempura udon. Every dish was satisfying, but the standout was the incredibly fresh, thick-cut sashimi that melted in our mouths. To top it off, we shared a plate of fried Oreos—an unexpectedly fun and delicious way to end the meal.
Portions were generous, the pricing was very reasonable, and the quality was excellent across the board. If you’re in the area and looking for a hearty, authentic Japanese-Korean meal, Samurai Sushi is absolutely worth a visit.
Highly recommended!

We went here tonight and loved it. The vibe was very chill. The service was good. They had one server but she handled it. The owner seemed very cool and real. The sushi bar is the star of the show.
We order the rainbow roll dinner, samurai roll and veggie tempura (not pictured). My husband and I enjoyed all of it!
Their sauces are homemade. The fish was fresh. I got a hoodie.

We had such a warm welcome walking into Samurai Sushi. My husband ordered the sushi/sashimi combo—everything was incredibly fresh and beautifully presented. I went with the Korean chirashi, and honestly, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Anchorage. It was packed with fresh vegetables, full of flavor, and refreshingly light without a ton of unnecessary salt. Healthy, satisfying, and delicious. We’ll definitely be back!

One of my favorite sushi spots in anchorage, been going here for over 3 years monthly, all of the the rolls are delicious, the fried rice is amazing, and if your really like sashimi try the minado box for delicious, succulent fresh fish. Pictures are 10 pcs salmon sashimi and kali plate

Every visit is perfection. The chef, the wait staff, the food, it’s all 10/10. The potato roll is sooo flavorful and the bento boxes are huge! Also love the pan fried gyoza!!!

They were very short staff when we went so we were there for about an hour and half on a non busy time. I understand that can happen though. The sushi was good! Loved the variety menu options. I wouldn’t say this is my favorite Sushi place in town however, I do enjoy ordering and dining with them!

Got the coconut shrimp box and the calamari tempura. It was delicious and fresh. The miso soup was hot and perfect. The salad was crisp and had the perfect amount of dressing. The waitress was kind and courteous.
The low light ambiance is appreciative of those of us with sensitive eyes. The decor is culturally appropriate with cute origami creations throughout and Japanese art to please the eyes. A great place to get some delicious food.

Had some amazing service when I went there. I planned on getting some salmon rolls to replace the crunchy rolls that came with the box but they didn’t want to do that. Eventually they felt bad and gave it anyway with the crunchy rolls free of charge. Some amazing food and lots of it. The only bad part is it’s a little pricy. Outside of that the atmosphere is there.

The atmosphere here is very comfortable, we were greeted promptly at the door & seated right away. The waitress was very friendly & attentive as was the sushi chef, who made conversation with us from his station (we happened to be the only customers there at the time) There is a lot to choose from on the menu & I was quite surprised by the price of the lunch boxes, the amount of food you receive for less than $15 is staggering compared to other places up here! I was very impressed by the shredded diakon my sister’s sushi was served on, I love diakon & have never had it served that way & that was just a garnish! Quite a delightful experience, I will definitely be back!
