Very good service and comfortable environment. Enjoyed our seating around the fireplace. The food was ok. I felt it wasn’t the freshest seafood, but acceptable. Had better luck with cooked dishes. Could have been an off night, so will give it another try some other time.

I have never left a dinner so angry food was good but watched every person around us get their food while we waited a literal hour. Our server took our drink glasses away without asking us if we wanted another. I left my birthday dinner angry instead of happy I will not ever be back. Honestly I’m so angry. When I tried to leave and we were told we couldn’t, and if we wanted faster service we should have sat at the bar. We weren’t offered seats at the bar. Still while sitting we watched every other table get served before us. After an hour and 10 minutes our food came. It was good, however our server had a major attitude, and my birthday dinner was ruined. Again will not be back, this place has gone so far downhill.

Great sushi! Bustling little restaurant so they must be popular! They were packed but got us in by the fire which was very nice. Wait was understandingly a little long but not awful. I got the Powder House Roll which was soooo yummy!! Sashimi appetizer and chicken teriyaki dish were also tasty. Would def go back.

One of the worst restaurant experiences ever..Do yourself a favor don’t eat at Samurai Restaurant South Lake Tahoe for any reason. To start the atmosphere was dark and the table was filthy. The waitress was a nightmare she definitely didn’t like cleaning the table or any table. Despite the bad start we decided to order, we were hungry. The waitress was cold and embarrassing rude but she finally took my order but she never took my wife’s order, I had to flag her down for that in an absolutely empty restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. Once the questionable food finally arrived it matched the service it was a cold tasteless and disgusting. If you’re looking for Sushi Restaurant this is not the place Samurai Restaurant is an insult to Sushi Restaurants everywhere save your money and your dignity…

Amazing! 100% satisfied, it was our first time here, we ordered various rolls, they were all delicious. Usually when we try a few different rolls, one or two don’t meet our expectations but all the ones we tried were delicious! The salmon, tuna and shrimp were so soft and fresh. The 49ers roll is delicious. We are fans of raw salmon, the Tahoe roll is also yummy. The waiters were friendly and attentive to the current safety regulations. May was our waiter, very sweet.

Great sushi, very fresh and unique rolls. We ordered the Grease Lighting, Bronco roll and Tahoe roll. The Tahoe roll is made with soy paper, I’m not a big fan of soy paper but this roll was so good we ordered a second one. They also have oysters, clams and BBQ plates. The place is small but very welcoming inside. I love the fire pit table in the middle of the room, is fantastic. They also have a private room, Tatami Room, that you need to reserve in advance. I believe it sits up to 20ppl. There’s also a sushi bar and a drink bar.

Good food. Horrible service. Attitude from the server the second we sat down. Forgot items. No refills on drinks (water) should not go before 8pm if you don’t want to be told you’ll be waiting 45 minutes for food after sitting down to order.

Food is below frozen dinner quality. Poor presentation, tasteless, and just pure substandard. Only Sukiaki was acceptable quality. Do not understand how others gave higher then 2 stars rating!
