Tried the all you can eat option. It’s only available Tuesday to Friday. The sushi we chose were good, just that the waiting was a bit long for the second order. I suggest ordering a lot at once if you’re sure you are able to finish all. There were only 2 servers while the tables were mostly occupied. I don’t really like the ambience since it’s not bright enough. Overall was satisfying.

Ordered lunch from Samurai today via Uber Eats and it was delicious! I had the three sushi rolls lunch special and a chicken katsu cutlet special (I’m a hungry guy what can I say?).
For the rolls I ordered the Striped Bass (YUM!), salmon (fresh and tasty and big ol chunks!) and boston (ay big and tasty shrimp!). The portion on the Chicken Katsu was large! Got to save most of that for dinner.
Definitely want to stop by with a group and go for that AYCE sushi special and get a karaoke room! I’ll be stopping by in person sometime soon. Until then, I highly recommend ordering for lunch, especially if theres an Uber promotion going on. The Katsu was $12, and I had a 50% off lunch coupon that stacked. I will order again regardless of if there’s a promotion or not though, it was that good! Thank you Samurai!

Excellent downtown Rittenhouse area Japanese restaurant that has BENTO box dinners. Most places only have bento for lunch. The interior is super cool modern and exciting. Service was excellent. And the price… yes, the price for a bento was awesome! We enjoyed our bentos and got out of there without breaking the bank for dinner. Thank you!

We did take out.. this was the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The fish tasted old and the added cream cheese in a roll was worrisome… why would you put a large glob of cream cheese in a sushi roll. Waste of money.

The service was great, the server was very respectful and polite.
The food was fine and the price was reasonable. the sushi were not the freshest and some of the shrimps veins were not cleaned completely.
But the salad dressing was delicious, and the fried shrimp were crunchy and tasty.

All you can eat sushi for $27 was a good deal. Service was attentive

Extensive menu with a lot of American-style Japanese favorites, inventive sushi rolls, and friendly staff. Dunno if the all-you-can-eat is worth it given the limited number of items on that menu, but the dinner bentos offer a lot of variety on their own — tempura shrimp, shrimp dumplings, and a California roll really bulk it out. Only complaint is that they take the skin off the teriyaki salmon, presumably because they need it for the rolls.
I generally don’t pay attention to interior decoration, but the karaoke rooms are a lot of fun! Enjoyed watching music videos during dinner and actually seeing what the lyrics are.

Seriously wow! Would HIGHLY recommend Samurai to anyone. The food was great, and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Some noteworthy dishes were the baked seafood appetizer, the I heart you riceless roll, and lobster dynamite.
Also – great for hosting a party in one of their private dining rooms with high tech projection walls and karaoke that we luckily got to experience for ourselves. It was a blast. We will be back again, and again!

Loved Samurai! We dined privately in our very own 360-degree video room. We were given a private room. Our table was surrounded by beautiful reef fish and sharks. It was something you might experience at Disney World. It was a very cool concept. Watch out! The Sushi chef will overfeed you with amazing sushi roll after amazing sushi roll. The sashimi was super fresh. We tried the steak too, and it was delicious. The owner is a sushi distributor who hand-picks whatever is served, which is the equivalent to Charlie from the Chocolate factory handing you just the right candy bar! This restaurant will end up being one of the next great places to eat in Center city, Philadelphia. Go before everybody finds out about it, or you won’t get in, and you will be waiting outside. Trust me, it’s that good!

Criminally underrated. The service was quite good, our waitress was great! We enjoyed the late happy hour prices (until 7:30 on a Friday) and stayed to enjoy entrees for dinner. The sushi was quite fresh and delicious. I also have to recommend their desserts, which included a chocolate “truffle” (basically a zabaglione) and an interesting tasting sweet potato cheesecake. If we lived in Philly, we would be coming here all the time. Overall the prices were very reasonable.
