New restaurant on Fire Island. I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but this place was horrible. It seems like a lot of residents are solely satisfied that there’s an ethnic restaurant on the island, Samui needs some serious improvement if they even want to call themselves a restaurant.

I attempted to visit for lunch on a weekday in July. I arrived at 12:25 and waited until 12:45, but did not see anybody inside so I left. Additionally, nobody answered the phone.
I returned a few days later again around 12:25, and saw the restaurant open a short while after 12:35.
Since the restaurant is supposed to open at 12:30, it is unacceptable to not be open without a message on the door, or not to answer the phone either.

The portion sizes were way too small. We ordered the Thai Salad and the Pad Kee Mow.
The Thai Salad was a major disappointment, not only was the portion size too small, but the contents cannot be described as Thai at all. It was just a small mixture of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, fried tofu, and cucumbers. Because of my nut allergy, we got the peanut dressing on the side, and the other diner applied the dressing to his portion.
The Pad Kee Mow had a distinctive taste but the portion size was too small, was too oily, and most importantly, the ingredients did not taste fresh! I don’t want to make any assumptions, but this felt like it was made in a microwave.

For the price point, these items are a complete rip off. They put zero effort into their food or customer service.

Love it here! A rarity at its core, this place will never get old in my book. It’s a lovely change of pace from the usual fare of Fire Island! Everything I’ve eaten has tasted fresh and flavorful. For appetizers, I highly recommend the curry puffs! They are a decent sized puff and can be split in half to share, although you do get 3 per order. My favorite entree is Pad Kee Mow, as it has a very satisfying kick to it at its base level. I have ordered it “Thai spicy” and was satisfied with that, so if you can handle and love spice, go for it! The chicken I add to it is always moist and savory, and the chewy texture of the broad rice noodles complements the dish even more.

Another appetizer I love is Tom Kha Gai, a sweet / very slightly spicy coconut milk based soup. The mushrooms in it were cooked perfectly and so adorable!

If you aren’t a huge fan of spice, I can highly recommend the Pad Thai (get your rice noodle fix!) or the Pad See Ew. The Grilled Branzino is also full of flavor and not spicy.

BTW, their Boba and milk teas are super tasty and a nice sweet treat especially after spicy food! You can also try the Coconut Pudding- it’s a mildly sweet, uniquely textured dessert and delicious!

Overall, you truly can’t go wrong here and won’t find food like this many other places on the island!

Hooray! We finally have tasty options for meals other than the same old same old in Ocean Beach. This is their first year so we cut them some slack… I am not a fan of paper plates but at least they have metal utensils. Every dish that we have tried has been delicious. Cocktail selection is just okay as they do not have a liquor license so there is no full bar. A great convenience is ordering online and picking up delicious hot food to eat in your own home with your own cocktails! We’ve visited many times over the summer and hope they stay in business for many years!

We were there on a Saturday night in late September. The food was fine but it was consistently spicy – no other option. The plates were paper. The beer and wine in limited supply. The atmosphere is ok but the prices don’t match. The calamari was either cooked in old oil or burnt or both. The waitress was working a full house solo and did a great job given the circumstances. The two rice dishes – we each ordered a different one – looked and tasted exactly the same.

Given the limited options on the island, it may do fine but it also may not. We shall see.

We walked in and ordered to go. With friendly help with suggestions, ordered dumplings (6), pad Thai and chicken broccoli entrees. Told 15 min. At 25 we inquired, told soon. At 30 min we were on our way. Delicious food. You know the ‘doggie bag’ size of your take home leftovers? That was the size of our entrees with a $90 tab! We will not be returning.

Had a great meal here during Memorial Day weekend! Instantly felt like my wife and I were transported back to Thailand, where we spent 2 weeks last summer.

Best Kai Soi I have found outside of Chang Mai. Wife loved the green curry! Will be back for mango sticky rice.

The service here at Samui Thai was incredible! The workers made sure everything was well. The view from both indoor and outdoors was beautiful. While I ate the flavorful fried rice I saw boats on the bay. The cake here was very tasty. The chocolate cake I had was sweet with a creamy rich frosting. I really recommend this place.

The food was extremely bland and had very small portions for the high prices. The service was nothing memorable, our food took an unbelievable amount of time for 2 mains and 2 apps, and none of the food was hot when it came out. I’d avoid eating here if you actually have had good Thai food before.

Shockingly authentic Thai food on the beach. Super fresh. Friendly and prompt service. Cute space within steps from the beach, which we walked after our meal!

Absolutely loved our visit to Samui Thai in Fire Island! The food was phenomenal… every dish was bursting with flavor, fresh ingredients, and just the right amount of spice (mild compared to most Thai food). You can tell they really care about what comes out of that kitchen.

The service was top-tier too — friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. We felt welcome from the moment we walked in. It’s a laid-back spot with great vibes.

Definitely a must-visit if you’re on Fire Island. We’ll be back for sure!

Thank you!!
