I came because of the reviews. But the moment I walked in, I wasn’t too sure. I didn’t see any staff nor guests (only 1 couple) in the restaurant. But the moment Sam walked in, everything changed. Sam was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. He walked us through what makes his pizza so great, including the quality that goes into preparing his dough. We ordered half of El Jefe and cheese pizza, and both of them were amazing. We decided to take an order to go (Irie) and him and his staff were knowledgeable enough to prepare it in such a way where we can freeze it and reheat it at home. By the end of the visit, his entire place was packed (on a random Thursday night), with both newcomers as well as old timers. He was incredibly attentive to both. Overall, I truly enjoyed coming to this place. The best part was seeing how enthusiastic Sam was at engaging with his customers and creating a welcoming space for them to enjoy his pizza. From a fellow pizza lover to you, this is really good pizza.

Do not walk, RUN to get this pizza in your life. As a repeat customer from out of town, I plan any visit within 2 hours drive of Indianapolis around getting to Sam’s Square Pie.
Myself and 2 co-workers ordered the garlic knots, El Jefe, and the Drunk Chic and still had two slices to take home. The flavors are amazing, the dough consistency cannot be beat, and the Miller High Life was ice cold!
Life is too short to eat mediocre pizza. Go give it a try, you will not regret it.

This is the best non-hand tossed pizza in Indianapolis. The pepperoni they use is a full on 10…
If you’ve never had Detroit Style pie, order one right now.

Loved everything from the atmosphere to the aesthetics to the welcoming service to the FOOD!!!! The flavors in the El Hefe and the High Plains Drifter were tantalizingly delicious. Don’t let the rougher neighborhood vibe stop you from checking this place out and having what’s now on my top 5 pizza list as the best pizza I’ve ever eaten! Second only to Lou Malnaties in Chicago.

Saw this place in the Indianapolis magazine when they were talking local pizza. Decided it was unique enough to make the trip and it was delightful enough for several more. Unfortunately you can’t take the kids so it’s take out if you’re feeding the kiddos.

My parents and I drove from Fort Wayne to Indianapolis today to try out Sams Square slice. We saw a reviewer on Facebook talk about it so I wanted to give it a try. The owner immediately greeted us when we arrived and was friendly from the start. He went over the menu, and explained the pizzas and different options. We selected the garlic knots as well as a pepperoni pizza and a specialty pizza. Everything was fantastic, and the customer service was top-notch. I will definitely be returning when I’m in the area for future visits.

Literally the best pizza we’ve had in awhile! The garlic knots were sooooo soft, pillowy, and HUGE!! The El Jefe did NOT disappoint (check pictures) that cheese pull lets you know it’s the real deal. We also love that this is a family business. We definitely will be back

We found out about SSP scrolling through videos and drove 2 hours round-trip to check it out. We are still walking on clouds and we ate this pie last night. We ate 3 pieces and were stuffed with the finest pizza we’ve eaten. We cannot make this up, we are foodies and OMG! this pizza is FIRE!!! We got El Jefe…the whipped ricotta makes this pie unforgettable…exquisite!

finalllllly got to try sam’s square pie for the first time and can’t wait to go back…truly some of the best pizza i’ve ever had. i had 2 pizzas in mind to order: the pepperoni and pepperoni sausage – but the pizza on special (with truffle mushrooms and potato) was calling my name so i left with the triple pepperoni and the special, both absolutely amazing in their own way. and the crust……..YUM. not to mention my friend ordered the granny tomato pie: so classic and so tasty.
we got stuck in the parking lot due to a flat tire and Sam took time out of his busy Saturday evening dinner rush to help us resolve the issue, if that isn’t customer service at its finest idk what is.
great spot all around and i encourage any lover of pizza to head to Sam’s ASAP, you will not be disappointed.
