Stopped here to grab lunch to go. The restaurant seems to have been around for a while, definitely has that mom n pop feel so a bit dated. However the food was great, I am a picky fish eater and it had a good consistency and flavor, the french fries were great. The red beans were okay had a hint of oily taste to it, but overall good. Also ordered the apple pie, I thought of it as an apple pie slice but its like the one from the fast food chain. It was good, deep fried, crispy and sweet. The cost was very affordable for a good amount of food. Cashier was friendly and the wait for my order was acceptable. I would recommend giving this place a try!

Food is decent. But depending who takes your order, you’ll get horrible customer service that’ll destroy your appetite and/or be told that the prices changed (after your card is already run). Three out of the eight times I last went, supposedly the prices increased “a week ago”. Just go a few blocks down the street and eat at D&J’s Seafood. Cooked to order and they never miss on flavor and consistency.

Just go try it, you wont be disappointed. The nice lady at the window said “you want that fried or grilled baby”. When she said that, I felt so warm and welcomed. Love yall! I get it to-go though so I can’t say much about the restaurant itself but honestly, I really dont care about how the dinning room looks because the food and service makes up for it.

I used to love this place in Waco, but today was officially my last visit. I understand prices increase over time, but every time I come, my usual order costs more and more. I always get the kids’ fish meal with okra, and now I’m being told okra is considered an appetizer and can’t even be included as a side anymore which honestly makes no sense.
I ended up paying $11.90 for lunch and had to settle for a side I don’t even want because I refused to pay an extra $2 just for okra. That alone was frustrating, but to make matters worse, the fish was extremely soft and falling apart, nothing like the quality I used to get here.
Very disappointing experience overall. I really don’t understand these changes, especially when it pushes loyal customers away.

The food here was absolutely amazing! Everything was so flavorful — the red beans and rice were super yummy, and the catfish was thick, fresh, and perfectly crispy. The cashier was awesome too — so friendly and helpful! It truly felt like a home-cooked meal away from home. Highly recommend! You won’t regret it!

Another great local Waco spot! I try to stop in here for thier lunch specials once a week. Good helpings of fried seafood and chicken and alot of different side dishes. The grilled options are great too!

Slap me around and and call me Susan. As the kids say, “this place smacks.” I wasn’t paying attention and missed my turn. Stumbled upon this place while making my emergency turn. Dont let the outside decor fool you. The food was hands down delicious. We got a nice spread for our drive back to Austin. The food was piping hot while I navigated with one hand on the wheel and the other on each delicacy I popped in my mouth. Got the shrimp and oyster platter, and added some fish filets. Everything was good. My girl added a Philly cheese steak and that thing was on point. Dont walk, run to this joint.

I just finished my meal at this location and I have to say, not only is the food great, the atmosphere is very homey but what always makes it above and beyond from other places is our server Lisa because she OUTSTANDING! Not only does she provide honest recommendations but she will take care of you during your entire experience! We have come to this location over 5 times and always leave happy and satisfied! We will definitely be back soon!

Very friendly service. The food was very fresh and hot. Fried green tomatoes are awesome. Large portions, well worth the price. Large shrimp and oysters great flavors. Grilled fish was the best I have had. I will be back.
