A couple of weeks ago I went in to place an catering order for an event for my son and the experience was nice enough with I presume the owner or manager that I placed the order for June 7th with a pickup time of 5pm. The day prior I did receive call ensuring that I did indeed what to continue with the order of 40 wings, 24 fried fish and 20 grilled tenders with some various sides. Come the day of pickup at 4 o’clock I called to see if order would possibly be ready prior to 5 and at that time I was told they wouldn’t even be starting to cook order until 4:30. Upon on arrival I see a order on counter that I assumed was mine which I was correct I was a bit taken back that it was just sitting there like that and not being kept warm. That was my first issue but the second was when the cashier rang up order and the price was more than what I was told so I inquired about it and she printed a receipt that reflected what I thought the cost was but then proceeds to say that she added a gratuity which I was baffled by. Why would I pay a gratuity and why wouldn’t you just ask if I wanted to possibly tip you. I paid for food and I and my son began to take food out to my vehicle with no at first no assistance after going back and forth a couple times when finally the cashier brought the last remaining bag outside. I’ve never encountered where you wouldn’t be assisted with such a big order and at the point the cash I was going to leave which was double the gratuity she wanted to include I decided I would keep my money. Upon getting home and looking at the food I was highly disappointed with how the chicken tenders were so dry and the chicken wings appeared to be burnt. Forgot to mention the food wasn’t hot at all. The catfish was great as always which I expected that would be the case to be for everything. I’ve been to this location and always had great food and customer service so I’m shocked and upset about the outcome of yesterday. I will not go there ever again and do not recommend for catering

Great food! Wanted some place with chicken strips for my kids and adult choices for myself. My girls said it was very good, better than Sonic. Kids can be picky eaters so I was thrilled they enjoyed it so much. My 11 year old enjoyed the Po’ Boy chicken sandwich. I thought the 6 piece fish (catfish) was great. Exactly what I expected for southern food.
We ate around 6pm and the inside was dark, but tables were well lit, not sure if that’s normal. Food was good and waitress was friendly. There were only a few people inside. I would eat here again.

We were looking for something different and found Sam’s. We were really glad we did. Tried a bit of everything. Fish, Shrimp, crab cakes, hushpuppies, beans and rice, green beans, fries, fried mushrooms and pickles. The food was all delicious and the portions were large. Also, the best remoulade sauce I have had in East Texas. Really great place!

I ordered online and they ran out of something I had ordered. A refund would have been terribly inconvenient. They substituted the item with something of equal value and added something extra for the trouble. It was a pleasant experience. I also liked the Christian music playing on a Monday night♥️

If you’re thinking about wasting your hard-earned money, time, and gas, go ahead and order the fried gizzards, fried shrimp, fish, and hush puppies from Sam’s in Nac.
Absolutely DISGUSTING.
The gizzards were chewy like rubber bands, and the shrimp tasted like they were fried in week-old grease, the fish? Bland, dry, and overcooked! And the hush puppies? More like “hush, please throw these away.”
10 out of 10 do NOT recommend. Save yourself the disappointment—and your stomach.

Our playoff football game this week took us to Nacogdoches and we tried Sam’s Southern Eatery.
We told our waitress that we were headed to a game so she took our drink and food order and told us she would put the food order in and then bring us our drinks so we could get to the stadium in plenty of time.
SO thoughtful!
Our food was all hot and fresh. We were all in the mood for shrimp
Popcorn shrimp and 8 piece shrimp.
My youngest Loved the green beans!
I Loved the batter of the fried shrimp. It’s a seasoned cornmeal type and that’s my favorite! They also offered grilled version which I would like to try as well.
The dipping sauce was a favorite of everyone at the table!!
I would definitely recommend!

Came in for a Door Dash order today (10•11•22) Samantha with the reddish orange auburn colored hair, very sweet and very helpful. She definitely needs a raise or at least deserves a better job where she is well respected. However, the girl with the short dark brown or blackish color hair and glasses, extremely RUDE!!! She just looked at me, no smile, she didn’t greet me, & she had an attitude when she spoke to me about the order. She is extremely rude to her other employee. She needs to be fired. Samantha was extremely helpful with all the customers, I could hear her as I was waiting on the food for at least 30 minutes. Which is unacceptable for a Door Dash order. And Samantha was doing it all alone. This was my first time in here. The rude girl said the order never got put in, which she didnt even say to me until after I had already been waiting 15 minutes. Samantha has been super busy the entire time I been here, back and forth to customers, ripping & running. Roll the cameras back if you don’t believe me.
