The food was amazing. The fish was awesome. Just right. The red beans and rice was great. Made with yellow rice. Yum. The phillycheese steak was to die for made to order as well as the fish. My fries were just right . I’m coming back. Excellent customer service. The veggies came from restaurant depot. Fresh.

The jumbo fried shrimp is pretty good for the price. It’s no Top Cat but it’s a step up from LJS. The tarter sauce taste like Raising Canes had a baby with red lobster tarter sauce. Not bad I liked it. The coating for the shrimp is like a cross between cornmeal and a batter. It has the grit of cornmeal but pulls of like a flour battered item.
The grilled jumbo shrimp was okay. Tasted better with the tarter sauce. However, I wished i didn’t have to use tarter sauce. It should flavor based off it being grilled. when I get the shrimp from OTB it taste so good with no additional condiments.My mom had the whole catfish. She had to doctor it up with the lime they provided and tarter sauce. It still wasn’t that great for her. It was also a bit hard as it’s a thin piece of fish so if fried for too long it gets hard. The turnip greens were greasy and lacked any flavor.
The atmosphere is more of get your food and go place.The girl taking orders was super nice and sweet.
You do get bread but they didn’t toast it very well. It was soft but would have been better if it was toasted longer with butter. The hush puppies had a bit of spice but where hard little knots. Sides are extra .99 or you can add 1 side and a drink for $2.00 more.
Overall for the price i would get the fried shrimp again if i was just craving fried shrimp. The catfish is a no go for my mom. Grilled shrimp is a no for me. They have homemade sweets like cheesecake, strawberry cake, and german chocolate. Your usual fountain drinks and golden peak tea.

Actually, Sam’s is closed. It is not called “A Taste of G’s”. Soul food and Smokehouse. The food is absolutely delicious. Service is great. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I ordered the $4.99 fish and fries. I was pleasantly surprised. They have the option of ordering the fish fried, blackened or grilled which isn’t stated on the menu. I chose the blackened fish with a good helping of seasoned fries. It was very tasty. I’ll definitely have to try other items.
They don’t tell you to order at the counter though. There is no wait staff so you have to order and serve your own drinks.

Friendly staff. Food is good but not great. Will not order the clams again though. So much nasty black guts. Whole plate wasted. Willing to try again anyway. Super close to home. Wish I had the chance to try Cajun bite before they switched. Had a great menu online.

My son and I ate dinner here today and it was definitely up to the normal Sam’s quality and quantity we’ve come to expect. I’ve eaten at a number of these restaurants – in Shreveport, Waco, and even NW Arkansas and really like them. The employees and management were very polite. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. We had the fish, shrimp, and chicken tenders as well as fries and cole slaw. Highly recommended for filling up a hungry family without emptying your wallet!

Got there when the doors were still locked. So I got my food fresh out the grease, and off the stove. I had to wait a tad for my fresh food, but it was well worth it. Been dying to try this place since I picked up an UberEats order the other day. Tried the fried jumbo shrimp meal with a small side of turnip greens. (Not crazy abt them, but then again I never really hve been) I ordered a bowl of seafood gumbo and an order of fried mushrooms. I could only eat half of each. I can eat a perfectly portioned, Delicious full meal, twice✌️ with the portions they serve! I Definitely recommend Bravo

The people were nice but that doesn’t make up for the horrible meal. The chicken tenders, fish, and shrimp were all rubbery and unseasoned. However, the fried green tomatoes were good. I wouldn’t try anything else from this menu.

My husband and I had dinner here with our daughter and we loved it!!! Everything we had was delicious. My one year old loved the fish. Definitely will be going back. Thank you! I do suggest maybe some music playing. It was very quite inside. They have TVs but they weren’t on.

Amazing! Homemade mac and cheese, the fish was perfectly battered, the tartar was perfection. Then there is the philly cheese steak, it was SO tasty!! The staff was personable and very kind. We will be returning there!
