The fried Catfish & Red Beans with Rice was great!
There is another location in Norman but I Refuse to spend one Penny there because the Mayor & City Council Defunded their Police Department!
(Also happy to see Sam’s took over the Pizza Hut location that went out if business because Pizza Hut refused to take Cash anymore!)
On my first trip:
1. The waitress was more interested in ‘dancing’ up front and flirting than she was in giving food service to a customer.
2. The crab cakes were very tasty, but the deep fried dinner rolls were really bad grease logged.
On my second trip:
1. The service was definitely sub-par! I asked the waitress for the 8 piece shrimp half fried and half grilled since I had never tried them. She said they couldn’t do that. I asked if I could try them both before ordering as an alternative. She said yes, but it took about 15-20 minutes to get them done so.i could try them. I also paid over $6 for those two pieces of shrimp!!!
2. The grilled shrimp was very good, and once I FINALLY got the $3 one to try and ordered mine, I got my order fairly soon and it was very tasty!
3. The rolls were still deep fried and grease logged again.
4. I ended up with a $26 tab plus a tip, so basically it cost me $30 for lunch!
1. The food is actually really good. Hence 2 stars.
2. The first time I went I was suspicious of the wait time on my order so I was looking into the kitchen as best I could & the management says it will be a few minutes ma’am as if he’s annoyed with me looking at them. So I wait. A woman comes in the front door, eventually, bringing a pickup order back. Of course it was mine. So I said thanks for figuring that out to the manager as I left. I was already irritated just with his attitude.
3. Today, I placed my order over the phone & was told to pickup in 35 minutes. I go 35 minutes later to pick it up & they’re swamped with to gos. So I wait. Until the man who placed his order in person when I first arrived gets his food. Then I ask the poor to go girl why it’s taken 51 minutes to get one sandwich made. The manager was on the phone or I gladly would’ve confronted him. She just starts apologizing. Mind you I ordered 1 Po boy with fries at least 45 minutes before that man who left before me with like 3 entrees & an appetizer. I honestly was too irritated to stay & try to get a refund but that’s definitely what should’ve been offered. I have worked in food service for close to a decade & that was 100% their fault both times. Don’t shoo me off as an annoying customer if YOU’RE the one who keeps messing up. Biggest pet peeve ever.
4. The saddest part is I’ll probably be back because there is nowhere to have dinner in this town.
