A friend was in the area and we decided to take him here for his birthday. The food was amazing. We ordered catfish, grilled and fried, chicken strips, shrimp, and crab cakes…. all delicious and cooked perfectly. The green beans, corn, red beans and rice, fried mushrooms, onion rings, and French fries. Everything was seasoned well and you won’t leave this place hungry.

Ordered the surf-n-turf. $27.99 price tag and thats fine if the meal is good. Unfortunately it really wasnt all that. Over a 1/3 of that steak was fat & gristle. Totally inedible. I politely informed the waitress and no effort was made to make it right. Mac & cheese was bland. This was my 2nd meal at this restaurant. On the 1st trip I ordered catfish. Was too salty and definitely not fresh. Not giving up on the place but so far I’m not impressed with it.

Really enjoyed this place. We had been by twice and decided to go somewhere else. However, this is well worth the visit. Clean restaurant. Very fast service. Jaclyn is definitely top-notch with her friendly service. The food was delicious, served hot, and very prompt. In addition, they served an extra portion. MacKenzie was a great server on our 2nd visit. Good food, clean, and great service.

I ordered the Philly Cheese steak & lemonade online for pick-up and it came out hot and fast. Pretty standard sandwich, nothing special but nothing to complain about; simple, greasy and delicious. I was wrong to think the drink price was a little steep at almost $3, because it’s a huge 32oz cup, so that ended up being a great deal. Also, the fries are the golden seasoned fries, not the plain looking ones on the menu pictures! And free ranch!!!

P.s. the claw machine is a scam, but I will be back to defeat it someday…

Stopped in for a quick lunch while on the road. The service was great, food was served hot and fresh, prices were very affordable and the portions were very generous. Catfish was cooked perfectly and sides were also on point. There’s something magical about that tarter sauce!

I had a good experience eating at Sam’s Southern Eatery for the first time! The service was pretty fast, and my waitress was friendly and attentive. All of my food came hot and freshly cooked. I got the 3 fish and 3 chicken combo with 2 sides. The portion sizes were INCREDIBLE for the price (you can see my hand, which is quite large, touching one of the fries in the picture for reference). I don’t think I could actually finish all of the food they gave me, even on my hungriest day! The fish had a nicely spiced cornmeal batter and was well-cooked, and the chicken was pretty good (though nothing ground-breakingly unique). The fries were VERY nice and crispy, even after sitting for a few minutes while I worked on the rest of the food, and they were coated in a flavorful, flaky batter. The mac & cheese was also memorably tasty and creamy; better than the mac & cheese I’ve had at most similar restaurants. Overall, one of the only things that makes this review a four-star and not a five-star review (for the kind of restaurant that it is) would be the atmosphere. It’s pretty ho-hum and really shows its age (you can tell it used to be a Pizza Hut in its former life… and there’s not much at all to its interior decorating and appearance). All-in-all, I would definitely recommend you give Sam’s Southern Eatery a try. I definitely plan to give them a visit again, and this time with my family!

Walked into what looked like an old pizza hut building. Seating was comfortable but the temperature was a tad bit chilly for our liking. Server seemed a little off and needed to be reminded a few times of different things like our appetizer of deep fried pickles (which we got almost after our meal was done). Otherwise other food was served in a timely manner. My steak and sides were good, bit not great. Prices were very reasonable. Good experience for the most part. Would we go back? Probably would not be our first choice in this area.

Our waitress was so friendly, price is good. They gave up both an extra price of meat for each type of meat we ordered! We thought it was a mistake so we asked and she said it was gratuity meat. I’m not sure if they do that all day long cause we were the third table in right after opening but it was so cool. The food is also so tasty! I really enjoyed the red beans and rice, they were so favorable and just delicious. I love shrimp and got fish and shrimp, the shrimp was so good and was the first thing I ate, I’m not the biggest fan of fish but I really enjoyed it and would go back! My boyfriend really likes fish and chicken and he said we’re definitely gonna make another weekend trip so we can eat here again since we live about 2 hours away.
