If you want Sam’s then I would get it delivered! The portions are bigger. I ordered Fried Green Tomatoes for an appetizer and there wasn’t close to as many as when My buddy and I get a delivery order. The 2 pieces of fish I got were very small. The guy never came and checked on me at all after giving me my food. He was actually in the back/kitchen besides the few times people came to pick up food. Definitely won’t be back. Will continue to get delivery though. Just sucks they don’t hardly care for actual dine in people.

This fish at Sam’s Southern Eatery & Seafood it’s burnt to a crisp. I ordered the kids meal to go. $9 the fish is so burnt my son wasn’t able to eat. I had to go to another restaurant to buy food. Whoever is the cook here needs to be trained not to burn the fish… not edible. The Mac n cheese very little cheese & a whole lot of noodles. Definitely not a good idea to order a kids meal.

The customer service at this restaurant was great. It was mine and my mother’s first time eating there and we took a while to figure out what we wanted to order, but the lady who took our order had no issues with how long that took or explaining what things are, and the restaurant had a fairly chill atmosphere. However, as we got our food: a plate of fried pickles, a double burger, an eight piece shrimp, Mac & Cheese, and coleslaw, we gradually noticed our food was over seasoned. For example, we could barely taste the Mac & Cheese with the amount of pepper in it, we could only taste mayonnaise in the coleslaw, and our shrimp had way too much salt on it. We paid about $50 so the amount of things we could point out about our food was disappointing, but we had no problems with the customer service or the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Good fried foods here! Fried Shrimp was large and tasty. A bit on the salty side but not overbearing. The Mac and Cheese was outstanding, as were the green beans. Disappointed in the cherry pie as the shell wasn’t very good – taste wise. The cherry filling was great though. Pie possibly was overcooked. Prices are great!

I recently visited Sam’s Eatery and while there were some notable positives, the overall experience was mixed.
**Pros:**

The crab cakes were pre-frozen much like something you would buy out of the freezer section and contained imitation crab meat mixed in sort of a mush breading which was disappointing. Again – I didn’t expect gourmet – but they left something to be desired.
– The green beans tasted like they came straight from a can, lacking the freshness and flavor one might expect from a restaurant dubbing itself as a southern eatery
Overall, while I appreciated the clean environment, friendly staff, and enjoyable music, the food was mediocre at best. It’s a shame because the setting had potential. I’m glad I gave it a try, but I wouldn’t make a special effort to return.

I wasn’t expecting much when we stumbled across this little place. We’ll were just looking for some fried mushrooms. This little Cajun place is amazing! We’ll be back to try more to support this small business.

We were there at 2:30 PM on a Friday. Only one other person in the restaurant dining.
Only one person working that we could see.
Many tables and booth seats needed swiped off.
Floors were sticky.
Front door glass and windows needed cleaned.
I can’t imagine what the the kitchen looked like.
The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is for the food. I had the gombo and the wife had fish and shrimp. Food was good with ample portions.

I had the oyster Po boy for lunch today and I haven’t had this in years. The taste was on point. The gentleman that waited on us and took the order was fantastic. While we waited he offered a sample of their gumbo and it was fantastic. Will come back again. Soul food nostalgia

This place is cold, as in NO heat. We ordered a family dinner, 12 pieces of fish, with 2 sides. Red beans and rice and corn, there was no Mac and cheese on a Sunday. So very disappointed to say the least. $43 and some change, the sides were literally 1/2 cup of each….for a family meal! Save your money and go somewhere else that has heat and knows how to treat their customers. Plastic ware and styrofoam cups, our meal was to eat there, not to go.

The owner of the store is extremely friendly. I ordered the catfish with the shrimp, and it was delicious. If you’re ever in Springfield and want catfish shrimp oysters, anything like that this is the place to get it.
