New owners first time here since
Asked for fried got it baked, asked for toppings got nothing, undercooked, cold just terrible all I. All
Terrible I’m writing this review while at dinner table with plate infront of me. And I asked for pep, bacon, feta and hot pepper and I think I only got pep and not very much of anything inside.im very disappointed and I don’t think I’ll be going back here ever again definitely not the same SAM’S as it once was I’m highly disappointed and your lucky I was stopped from (returning) coming back with all my food. And to the cook how can you put this together and be okay with it you need a new job maybe a greeter bc you should not be allowed back in the kitchen if you can’t make a easy panzerotti

Wow! Sam’s has left me speechless! This past week I visited Windsor to see my boyfriend and he said we have to go to Sam’s. I was hesitant at first due to not loving pizza or anything similar to it, but was I ever amazed! The specials, all the dishes, and drinks were delicious! I look forward to going back! Also big shout out to Spencer and Andrew for ensuring our visits were spectacular every time! As well as the owner!

I came back to visit and again! Another amazing experience! To top it off, Spencer made me the most delicious espresso martini!

We visited for lunch on a Saturday in November. We were the only ones there. The sign said new management. The atmosphere was great- old building with rustic decor interesting art. I liked it. The garlic cheese bread was amazing. My daughter got chicken strips and fries and the rest of us got pizza. It was very good. The crust was thin, which we l like. The toppings were high quality. We would definitely visit again.

From the minute we walked in, it looked like a ghost town. My daughter & I were the only customers this late afternoon. This once busy happening pizzeria has certainly taken a hit with it’s new owners. I was quite disappointed that no alcohol was to be served. Could have used a nice cold pint with our pizza. Especially with the big screen TV showing a football game.
The young man serving us was quite pleasant. The Sam’s Special Pizza was as great as I remembered. Flavourful sauce & crust with plenty of toppings. But overall, because of the lack of ambiance for an Italian pizzeria & the absence of a liquor license, I gave it only two ⭐ ⭐ The restaurant is now an empty shell of what it once was.
I would not return to dine in, however I wouldn’t hesitate to order out if I’m ever back in that neighbourhood (for which I rarely am).
To bring back the crowds for a successful business, I would suggest getting a liquor license to serve beer & wine at the very least. No need for full bar if that’s a worry.
And decorate please with an Italian theme fit for a pizzeria!

Pizza is still good and the server was nice, however the other recent reviews are spot on about the atmosphere. The changes to the interior are incredibly strange and off putting, with harsh lighting and bland decor. Removing alcohol was clearly a huge mistake, as there was nobody else in the restaurant while we were eating. Unlikely to dine in again, this is now take out only as far as I’m concerned.

Attention all past and present West Enders. I’ve got some sad news for all of you. Sam’s pizzeria on Wyandotte St., West has changed owners and you can no longer get a glass of wine or a beer with your pizza. Our family is so sad. When my husband and I were kids that is where we got our pizza from. Yes, it’s been part of our lives a very long time. We have brought our children there and for the past 10 years we have been bringing our grandson from Michigan. His birthday parties that he had in Windsor we always ordered the pizza from Sam’s. He insisted. Anytime any of our friends and family have come from the states to visit us, our grandson always says we have to take them to Sam’s . We had a group of 12 visiting from California, Texas and Michigan who were expecting to go to Sam’s this Saturday night until we found out they could not have a drink. It’s too bad Ralph is no longer the owner. Those were the best years. Goodbye Sam’s, we will all miss you

The good: sauce is very tangy, crust is excellent, toppings are generous.
The bad: not enough cheese, could have been cooked a couple more minutes, canned mushrooms?
The ugly: $48 for 2 medium pizzas that we picked up.

Ordered a panzerotti on Uber Eats. Called store if they made them deep fried which was what I wanted. Received a baked panz and when I called the store same guy said you didn’t ask for fried. Really! So infuriated. And asked for minestrone soup and full of cabbage. Really. That’s cabbage soup. I will never be a customer again

We visited from Detroit and had various slices of pizza. My mom got the traditional crust and loved it. I got the thin crust and it was fantastic. I also tried the Stracciatella soup (Italian egg drop) and it was a very generous serving, delicious! The bread it was served with was fresh and SO good. Finally, we tried the cherry cheesecake and it was exceptionally good! The server was very helpful, kind and accommodating, as we were foreigners and had lots of questions about the Canada-style food!

This used to be the pizza place I’d hit whenever I came to visit. Solid food, good vibe, and most importantly… pizza and beer. A combo older than civilization itself. Walked in tonight only to find out the new owner has decided to stop serving alcohol.

Genius move. Absolutely brilliant. Because what better way to keep a pizza restaurant thriving in a university town than by banning the one thing 90% of your customer base is here for? I mean, who even wants a cold beer with their hot pizza after a long day? Not me, obviously. Totally overrated.

It’s like running a movie theater and proudly announcing you’ve banned popcorn because it makes a mess. Sure, the pizza might still be fine, but the soul of the place? Gone.

So congrats to the new owner. You’re a business genius.
