First time visiting. We had cheese sticks with marinara, a small salad and split an Italian beef calzone (pictured)- it was gigantic! We loved all the food. The calzone was packed with cheese and Italian beef. The marinara was realllly good, we paired it with everything. We definitely will get food here again.
The service was nice, the waitresses were understaffed but we’re resilient with the Friday night crowd. Our waitress was so nice and helpful with my questions.
I gave the atmosphere 3 star because the same reason as other restraunts in this area, the interior of this place is extremely dated, old and dusty. It needs some tlc.

We ordered for the first time on super bowl Sunday. One pizza and two Italian beef calzones. Everything was great! Hot and fresh. I was excited that I found a new favorite for my family (we are new to the area). We ordered the exact same items about a month later and the calzones were horrible. The meat was chewy and dry. I was honestly saddened and couldn’t figure out why. Maybe the meat was leftover? There was barely any cheese on both of them and both calzones were just bad. We threw most of both of them away. For the price of each calzone and order in general (over $60) I will not order from them again. Quality should be consistent.
Service was okay. The atmosphere, we have never eaten in, however, upon entering both times to pick up our order I did notice the place needs a major upgrade.

For a while since moving to Rockford from Chicago I was looking for an Italian restaurant especially thin crust pizza. After trying a few in Rockford I found a gem, Sam’s pizza hits the spot every time when I am either having a pizza craving or I want something to remind of home. Every time I go to Sam’s with my family we are treated with politeness, they even know our name and we for the most part stick to a routine and the waitress knows that routine. We have tried some of the dinners and sandwiches on the menu and they don’t disappoint but the pizza is the star. Great hot fresh food for the price and a nice clean atmosphere and family friendly staff. I highly recommend anyone if they are craving thin crust pizza, calzone or deep dish to give them a try. I have been a loyal customer for more than a year

If I could give no stars I would! I ordered two pizzas and a salad yesterday and a few hours later my two year old, four year old and 3 others and myself all got food poisoning. My kid’s have been throwing up all day. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! So glad I spent 68 dollars for all of us to get extremely sick from it. Never again will I eat here Also, they called me 3-4 time’s when they were trying to deliver my food because the boss was yelling at the delivery driver and nobody cared enough to listen to my address when I repeated it multiple time’s.

I was very disappointed, something has changed. The pizza crust was hard like cardboard and tasteless, it sure didn’t taste like fresh made. I also ordered a calzone, it was tuff, tasteless and to top it off it was cold. That just tells me they are not making anything fresh. We’ll never go back, when you spend $50 ( and they weren’t busy) you should expect a decent meal.

The food was really good. The cheese is definitely cheesy with the pull and all. They also had a cannoli cake. It was delicious. The service was awesome, the waitress was cracking jokes, and I loved it. Atmosphere was your typical pizza place attire. Overall, 4/5 stars

I was really disappointed with my recent experience trying to order from Sam’s Pizza. Their listed closing time is 9:30 PM, so I called at 9:10 PM to place a pickup order—plenty of time before close, or so I thought. No one answered the phone, even after multiple attempts. I’m assuming the staff had already decided to stop taking orders and just ignored incoming calls, which feels unprofessional and frustrating for customers.
If that’s the policy (not accepting orders close to closing time), that’s understandable to some extent—nobody wants to rush last-minute prep. But the least they could do is answer the phone and politely explain, like “Hey, we’re not taking any more orders after 9 PM to wrap up on time.” That way, customers aren’t left hanging and wondering what’s going on. Instead, the silence just comes across as rude and poor customer service.
I highly suggest Sam’s Pizza updates their hours online and on apps to reflect reality—change the closing time to 9:00 PM if that’s when they effectively stop operations. Transparency would go a long way in avoiding situations like this. Until then, I’d advise others to order much earlier to avoid the hassle. Hopefully, they see feedback like this and make some changes!

Do yourself please do not order the Italian meatball sandwich it was pathetic how can someone serve this to someone like throwing it to a dog. The pics are show it all, the meatballs were literally cut in half maybe in 3rds it was prob about one and half meatball all said and done. We have the pizza and it’s always excellent. I won’t order Italian beef either tried that did not impress. If I didn’t have so much to do that day , I would of brought that sandwich right back.

Was disappointed with the pizza tonight. Asked for extra sauce on the pizza and it barely had any sauce on it. Ordered 2 orders of cheese balls and was only given one. I am sure we were charged for both the extra sauce and cheese ball. This is the first time we’ve been disappointed with Sam’s.
