My review is based on several visits over the last 12 months. I like to support local when I can, and when small things go wrong, I try to let it go. But I don’t think I’m willing to do it anymore. Some orders had nothing wrong, and my father in law really likes the grilled chicken sandwich. The tiramisu is pretty darn good, on the occasions it was ordered and actually made it into the bag. One order did not. The service is good, straightforward and generally what’s expected. The restaurant is cute, clean, and laid out well (although we mostly do take out) Tonight I got tzatsiki and pita, but the condiment I was given was not tzatsiki. No cucumber, maybe a hint of dill and lemon, but generally just salted Greek yogurt. 6 months or so ago, it was not like this. The spaghetti sauce was watery, but also smelled a bit burnt. The container was not sealed, spilled into the paper bag, and when I picked up the paper bag, the whole container decorated my car seat. I cannot attest to the taste, but it was watery and greasy, and poorly packaged, and because of the poor packaging, is now going to need to be shampooed from my car seat and floor. On previous orders I have received Alfredo that was just butter noodles, and while I seriously considered calling and complaining, I just figured it was an off day, made a quick sauce, and carried on. So while it’s been a decent place to support, all these little things just make it seem like inattention and possible apathy, which is unfortunate. I know things change, so we’ll try again, but it’s going to be awhile.

Been coming here for awhile. The fettuccine today literally tasted of water, and they forgot ingredients on my sandwich. Kinda disappointed I’ll have to find elsewhere moving forward…

NEVER AGAIN! We ordered a half turkey sub, half tuna sub and one full chicken Philly. The total came to $43.00. I couldn’t believe the price only to find out all three subs they gave us were the same. We asked for all the bread to be toasted, none of it was toasted. The tuna was very fishy, threw the sub away after one bite. The turkey was disgusting processed turkey with a horrible fake smoked flavor. Both subs were to have tomato, lettuce and pickles. They put two tiny pieces of lettuce, a tiny slice of tomato and one full pickle chip and one end of a pickle on the sandwich. The taste of these subs were offensive but the worst was how much we paid! They couldn’t even put lettuce, tomatoes and pickles on the damn sub. Out here charging an arm and a leg when I could have bought the same skimpy, cheap ingredients at nasty food lion and had a toddler use those ingredients to make me a better build sandwich. I feel robbed! Then they have the never to ask for a tip when you pay with a credit card! $43.00 worth of trash subs that you didn’t even put ingredients on, couldn’t toast the bread and although we appreciate the tiny glob of mayo on each sandwich, you could have spread it out over the sandwich. This place has a lot of nerve to rob people and give them literal trash in exchange for a lot of money. Lesson learned, how about go buy quality ingredients and teach you staff to make a damn sub. Way too expensive for trash a raccoon wouldn’t eat. Very angry that we’ve wasted this money and now have to figure something out for dinner. DO BETTER! Get some quality ingredients and DO BETTER! I want a damn refund!

Enjoyed lunch with a friend at Sam’s Pizza & Subs. I had the Chicken Gyro platter. Everything was freshly made including the Gyro sauce. Penny was our server. She was friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. We will make Sam’s a regular stop for sure!

Stopped and ordered 2 subs, 2 fries, 2 Cokes for a total of 45.00. Simple order steak/cheese and Italian toasted no mayo or peppers. Wait 25 minutes drive home Italian is not toasted and has mayo and peppers. I call, they will remake but now I have to drive back to get it… This is what I ended up with… not very appealing considering the trouble

I ordered delivery and my food was found next door. It’s fine, but my pizza was made wrong. I ordered from the original location inthe 90’s and it was always on point. I wish you all hadn’t branched out so much.

Ordered the pizza and it was delicious. Thin crust and very flavored. I have seen other reviews with poor service but our waiter was prompt and courteous. Well definitely be back.

This place was great when it first opened. However, the last few visits we have experienced slow service and the quality of food has definitely went south. The place is charming and modern, just needs to fix a couple of things first.
Update 4/3
Sam’s Pizza has changed locations in Ladysmith. Literally 40 feet away in a more spacious building. The new building will allow them to expand the menu for both entrees and deserts.
New location: The dining area is definitely a step or 2 upscale than the previous location.
Food: I did not notice any difference in the quality or quantity.
The dessert selection is phenomenal. My son and I got an Oreo and Pistachio Cannoli. The Orea was a bit rich but still good. The Pistachio was excellent and I will be getting that next time!
Service: The service was friendly but a bit slow and we had to ask for napkins and condiments.
Overall: I would recommend trying this place as the food and atmosphere is great.

Pizza was pretty good but was surprised they didn’t have fries. Guy who answered the phone and rang me up seemed a little out of it but the two women who were working there seemed very friendly.

Very disappointed. Spent over $70 in food, placed the order in store & waited for my order to be ready. The fries were rock solid. My daughter’s kids chicken tenders only had one piece of chicken in it. All four subs were incorrect and extremely bland. No Italian dressing on any of the subs and the incorrect veggies were on them as well. Drove all the way home and realized they never gave me the drinks I paid for either. The only decent meal was my son’s grilled cheese and let’s be real, it’s impossible to screw up a grilled cheese sandwich, so that doesn’t count for much…
