We take our daughter to Goldfish Swim School next door, so we’ve been patiently waiting and so excited for Sam’s Japanese BBQ & Hot Pot to finally open! The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and welcoming from the moment we walked in.
The food was phenomenal! The roasted duck, the tom yum broth, the fresh meats, everything was absolutely delicious!
The owner, Amanda, is the sweetest and made us feel so warm and welcomed. She even gave my daughter a teddy bear, and we named it Sam! Such a thoughtful and special touch.
We will definitely be bringing the rest of our family here and might even make it a weekly tradition after swim class!

We frequent Sam’s sushi bistro in Farmingville! So of course we are going to try hot pot for first time based on their delicious food from sushi spot.
It was the best first experience ever! Warm welcome from familiar faces, the atmosphere is so modern yet cozy. We are definitely returning for the BBQ next time. The servers took the time to explain the hot pot process.
We came in at 4pm on a Tuesday which was perfect for that kind of attention. 2 adult and one kid under 5 feet charge. Be sure to order light at first for your hot pot then add as you wish and can ingest. The ingredients are fresh and large. There is a sauce bar that had fresh fruits, veggies, herbs and an ice cream freezer next to it. There are bowls and plates to grab what you like. The bowls are essential in case you want to put some of the hot pot soup on side to cool a bit.
The burners were easy to use and the pots really keep the soup nice and hot. Warning: the Tokyo hot soup base is super spicy but so delish. Whether you are there for a quick lunch, brunch or dinner or stay for the max of 90 minutes it is a flavorful, comfortable experience! The seating and spacious setting makes for a quality family/ couple/ friendship time experience. Stay a while and chat and bond.
There are plenty of drink options with refills including their hot tea in their infamous cozy mugs that we enjoy in their sushi bistro location.
I will be going to their lunch time pricing next time because we are foodies to the core but we do portion control so it suits us best in price. The value of food is so worth it either way. I love that we get in our veggies and protein in a fun and active way. The sweet treats are yummy, too. We indulged in their ready made appetizers. As always I advice to go during the off peak hours to get best experience. Just go. You will not be disappointed.

The atmosphere was excellent, the place was clean and modern. The ingredients were all very fresh, simply tell the staff which items you’d like, and they will bring them to your table. You can also customize your own dipping sauces to match your own preferences, one of the servers recommended her favorite combination, a blend of Shacha sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and chili oil—which truly enhanced the flavor of the food. The “Roasted Duck,” a cooked dish recommended by the staff, was absolutely delicious. It was a wonderful dining experience, and I look forward to visiting again with friends in the future!

We recently attended the soft opening of Sam’s BBQ & Hot Pot in Centereach, Long Island, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. Owners Sam Chen and Amanda Lin have created something truly special for the community. It was also great to see Brookhaven Town Councilman, District 3, Neil A. Manzella there supporting Sam and Amanda for their opening.
From the moment you walk in, you are warmly welcomed by Amanda, who greets guests with such a happy, bubbly personality. She is incredibly gracious and genuinely thankful that you are there, which immediately makes you feel comfortable and excited for the meal ahead.
Once seated, you are presented with a large, impressive menu with many options to choose from. The highlight is the hot pot experience, where you can choose from six different broths. Some of the standout options include the Healthy Mushroom broth, Pork Bone broth, Tomato broth, and Tokyo broth, along with two additional house flavors. Each one sounds delicious and gives guests the chance to customize their meal exactly the way they like it.
The entire concept makes dining here fun, interactive, and perfect for sharing with friends or family. You can tell that Sam and Amanda truly care about their guests and about bringing a new and exciting dining experience to the area.
For a soft opening, everything was welcoming, well-organized, and full of positive energy. Sam’s BBQ & Hot Pot is a fantastic addition to the Centereach dining scene, and we look forward to returning soon.

Had the honor of getting to try out Sams BBQ and Hot Pot during their soft opening today. Cannot say enough good things we can rave about the food all day! We tried many items off the hot pot and ready to eat menus, i had the healthy mushroom soup base. Our favorites included the shrimp, sliced smoked sausage, chicken gyoza, and fried Mini buns. Also delicious was the corn, Brocolli, crown daisy, Ramen and sliced brisket. Our young daughter enjoyed the chicken nuggets and french fries as well. The staff was all so friendly and helpful since this was our first time ever trying hot pot. We’ve been huge fans of Sams sushi bistro since they opened and wanted to love and support their next venture and we are happy to say we will be regulars here as well. Amanda is the sweetest person who makes you feel like family not just customers. Delicious food, wonderful staff, clean and beautiful atmosphere, what more could you ask for.
