After a certain point, it doesn’t matter how good the food is (and the food is delicious). The gentleman in the turban was attentive and prompt, and was clearly overwhelmed. He did the best job he could. His service partner was nowhere to be seen most of the night. I arrived at 6:25, had to flag my waiter down to order at 6:36, and waited until 7:35 for my one pizza to arrive. I had to ask multiple times for water, I had to get up and walk to the front to order a drink for my partner, and I had to ask for the check. I would return if I learned they hired more staff. The food was very good. It’s a shame the experience was spoiled by the less than exemplary service.

We have been curious about this Indian restaurant in Joshua Tree, California, for a long time, and this evening, we decided to give it a try since we were in the area.

When we arrived, the restaurant was full, which is usually a good sign. We did have to wait for a table to open up, but it didn’t take too long. The restaurant itself was not big, but there were numerous tables. It was nicely decorated, but I will admit that it was a little dark. It was a bit cold in Joshua Tree, and the restaurant itself was cold. We had a pleasant experience, but there were a few issues.

The food was delicious and definitely flavorful. The dishes had a different flavor from other Indian restaurants that we had dined at. You can smell the aroma outside of the restaurant. The butter chicken that I had tonight had a different flavor profile than I had before. This was probably one of the best that I’ve had, but the chicken itself was a bit dry. The Chana Masala was also a bit different it which it had a smoky flavor. The vegetable samosas were delicious and cooked nicely. The garlic Naan was one of the best that I’ve had.

The service was fine. Unfortunately, we had a couple of issues. The staff members were all friendly and helpful. The first issue was that we had to remind the staff members about our Chai Tea. We didn’t get that immediately, but we did get halfway through our meal. The second issue was not getting the second appetizer we ordered. That was the Samosa Chat. Now, the third and final, initially, we wanted to order some Mango Lassi, but we were informed that they ran out. Now I did find it funny that a customer walked up to the front and asked about a Mango Lassi. A few minutes later, one came out for him. That wasn’t a big deal. Yes, I do watch everything that goes on in a restaurant we dine at.

Overall, it was a nice dinner, and the food was delicious. The service needs to be worked on, but hey, at least they were friendly and helpful.

Just don’t get the pizzas.

The service was great, and a couple items we got were actually quite good, but unfortunately the pizza really hit the mark. We got their mango lasi and some curry fries, which were quite good, but unfortunately the pizza was a huge let down.

The pizza was basically a chicken tikka masala vibe, but I could barely taste anything on it but crust and spice. We asked to customize it during ordering, and our server told us that unfortunately the pizzas are wrapped up and made ahead of time. Based on the flavor, it’s likely they freeze their pizzas ahead of time. The onions were chalky in texture, and the chicken was dry and not flavorful. Worst of all, the sweet tomato-yogurt flavors of tikka masala weren’t there in the slightest. 26$ + tax and tip for something that was probably worse than most cheese pizzas, unfortunately.

I really would love to see this place improve their pizzas, and my guess is that their freshly made items are all good. The staff was excellent, so my hope is that this business succeeds.

Best spot we got food at on our trip to Joshua Tree. Actually made it spicy, restaurant was packed with a lot of churn on takeaway customers but our food was ready in under 30 minutes. If you love Indian food, this place won’t disappoint

While we were coming back from Joshua Tree National Park, we happened to come across this completely amazing restaurant. The service was absolutely incredible and the people were so nice and polite. The food didn’t take a long time to make and was ready in about 10 to 15 minutes. We ordered a Bollywood pizza and korma fries with paneer and the food was absolutely delicious. It was so flavorful and tasty. The mint chutney on top was an amazing addition to this awesome pizza. The korma fries were incredible. The sauces on top were absolutely mouthwatering. Overall, it was an amazing and really good place to eat. I really recommend this restaurant.

Sam’s Indian Food and Pizza is absolutely amazing! The food is full of flavour and clearly made with care. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced—easily one of the best I’ve had. The Bombay pizza was next level, packed with flavour and cooked just right. On top of the great food, the service was friendly, fast, and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food and great service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

If you are in Joshua Tree NP then in the evening you should try their food. Best Indian food after a long time. The special was Pizza which was having so much flavour of India. A whole different experiment with cuisine and it tastes amazing. Must try! People were so friendly here too.

The chef and his nephews truly care. We came here after a long day in the NP and starving. They accommodated our every request without any problems. The food was great, service quick, and the price justified.

If you’re looking for an Indian meal after a day at the park, surely visit them.

This place was amazing , we came here last night and despite having such a small resturanutn and staff, they had their entire dining room filled and a long que and still were smiling and trying there hardest. The staff were super honest with their situation we asked for a table of two and they told us a hour wait and it took around a hour to get seated. Than when we got seated we ordered the butter chicken and chicken tika masla and both the boys apologzied for the wait and were amazing. THE FOOD WAS WORTH THE WAIT. The naan is amazing and the curry is even better , only thing i would say is they need more staff but the two boys did amazing for how much people and orders they had . Great Place, Great Service, hidden gem in joshua tree I would say

Not sure what has changed but food is just so much better now. Great place to eat and socialize. Don’t hesitate coming here. I guess they got rid of all the bad things I Newbridge and can compete now with the other restaurants or there.

I have to be honest. The service was great. The place is a little run-down but it feels cozy.
I’m a huge Indian food lover and eat this stuff a lot. Unfortunately, this restaurant was in my humble opinion not the greatest trasting food. The chicken was tough, to the point where I almost did not eat it. I have driven by this restaurant a lot in the last 6 months and was glad to finally dry it but the food tasted good but bland or completely off flavor.
I will huge or another try here in the next few days hope it was just a bad night.
