Just a well priced diner. Had some of the best french toast I ever ate. However, make sure you bring some cash because it is cash only.

My partner and I recently discovered Sam’s cafe and are very happy we did. We love to sit at the counter and watch the food being cooked. It’s so impressive watching all the orders being prepared so efficiently! The breakfast is our most favorite and the prices can’t be beat! We will continue to go to Sam’s Cafe for sure!

When you walk in, you won’t think much of the place. But once the food arrives (quickly I might add), you’ll change your mind. Outstanding food. Def on our breakfast stop list next time we come through. French toast was the best I’ve had in quite some time!

We love these small mom & pop cafes and search them out during our road trips. Great breakfast, nice local people. Would come here all the time if I lived in Champaign.

Tried the pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, and biscuits and gravy. Everything was excellent. Staff was super friendly

So apparently a simply request of crispy hashbrowns with LESS oil (than the previous side) is too tall of an order for the chef. When our waiter whom was very kind, went to tell the chef about this request, the chef literally hollered “Crispy hashbrowns with NO oil doesn’t work” just overly upset about a small request which by the way I had only said LESS! The whole place heard that, wether they were paying attention or not. I was at the farthest table from the cook which is by the entrance and heard it loud and clear. Bottom line is, it made me feel so embarrassed, I couldn’t finish the food. I paid my ticket and will NEVER go back.

Cash only, small neighborhood style cafe. Small menu. Not bad just not really our cup of tea. Wife and I both agree food was fine, just probably not a return visit for us.

Classic American diner. Great, hearty food and super fast service. Prices are killer! There’s clearly some regulars which is always a good sign.

I waited in line for a few minutes to ask for menus for take out for my in laws, my wife’s grandmother, and wife because we had our dogs with us and were going to eat at a park. I come back once we figure out what we want and wait in line 10-15 minutes only to be told they’re doing dine in only now. I saw multiple people walk out with bags but it’s hard to say if it was leftovers or not. What was most disappointing was the original cashier avoiding me at the register and making someone else come and tell me they’re not doing takeout.
