I had Sam Pizza Bar for the first time during my postpartum period, when some friends brought it to me, and I had been wanting to visit in person ever since. I finally went in person, and it did not disappoint.
The place is lovely, very cute, and welcoming. The bathroom was extremely clean and even Instagrammable.
The staff was friendly and kind.
We ordered my favorite Brazilian pizza flavor, chicken with catupiry, and it was absolutely delicious. Even my American husband and daughters loved it, which says a lot.
They also offer classic American-style pizzas, so both Brazilian and American tastes are well covered.
While waiting for the pizza, we planned to order chicken wings and fries, but they were out of wings, so we went with fries only. Honestly, it worked out great and helped keep the kids happy while we waited.
I also saw that they offer other Brazilian foods like stuffed cuscuz, tapioca, and açaí, which makes the menu even more special.
They also told us they have live music on Fridays and Saturdays, plus happy hour during the week.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for Brazilian food and pizza in a cozy, beautiful environment.

Sampizza Bar with its new name and ownership is better than ever. I ordered a vegetarian pizza, and it was absolutely delicious. The fresh ingredients and amazing flavors were a great way to start the new year for us.
From the moment I placed the order on the phone, they were very nice and polite. When I picked up my order, the guy who was there was very friendly and kept thanking me for my order. I hope they will thrive and continue to provide us with delicious food.

UPDATE! 7/14 Add insult to injury I placed an order and waited as the app explained they are packing the food and the driver had picked it up I had got the slice points to get a free large pizza which Sampizza is enrolled in. They made the a medium sized pizza the app says large plus i ordered some fried dough with the order. I get a message over an hour later saying they cancelled my order through the app because of miscommunication I live 2 streets away from them so I’m unsure if it was because they didn’t want to give me the free pizza or if this is how they run business now. l placed an order on 7/12/24 and they forgot part of the food that went with the entree. I asked for tator tots with the burger didn’t get them either. I wouldn’t send anyone to this place just because of how they run their business They could have called if there was a problem not do it by the app!!!! Never again! Normally dining in is usually better than delivery…. Most places!! Well as you see below I left an outstanding review they deserved a while back when they first started out and would deliver themselves anyhow I’ve stopped in recently and the place was clean and updated from when I originally stopped in. So I asked for a veggie wrap with coleslaw but no coleslaw (it happens) when I got my wrap there was no Avocado on it which was disappointing they didn’t have any but it was on the menu as part of the wrap instead of being asked if I wanted to add something else I was served without the Avocado the reason I wanted it to begin the other person who accompanied me asked for a Well done cheeseburger which the cheese was burnt and the meat was red on the inside. Didn’t have the things to drink on the menu but they were advertised just like the items they advertised as far as the food they didn’t have. New server started on this day he was very kind and was doing great for his first day! Great service but the food was not that great on this day and overpriced…

Sampizza is the best pizzeria in Hartford. The variety of drinks are delicious. The variety in pizzas is even more amazing. I went on a Saturday and danced all night cuz they were having a live show which was honestly so fun. 10/10 recommendeddd.

I was really excited to try this place because there aren’t that many Brazilian pizza places in the state.
My husband brought home two pies: one medium with catupiry crust and corn pizza and another white pie which was supposed to be without tomatoes but came with tomatoes which my husband cannot eat.
The corn and catupiry pie, and I don’t say this lightly might have been one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever eaten. It looked and tasted like someone dumped 700,000 tons of cream and cheese onto pizza dough. It was so heavy and thick it completely dissolved the pizza dough base. Never in my life have I ever ate only one slice of pizza and left an entire medium pizza on the table to not touch. I felt extremely sick and could barely eat one slice.
I definitely would never eat here ever again.
If you like good Brazilian pizza you stick to De Giovanni in Danbury because this place is nasty.

I eat pizza all over the world, and this may be one of the best NY style pizza’s outside Brooklyn. It’s better than several classic pies I’ve had in NY. I’m kinda floored right now. What a crazy pleasant surprise! Can’t believe nobody is talking about this place in the pizza scene. Best kept secret.

So came here on a Monday afternoon, saw the exceptional ratings here and gave this spot a shot, and if I were a local to Hartford, I’d be here a ton. This is some of the best pizza I’ve ever eaten. The only place that compares to the pizza here is Frank Pepe’s, and they’re significantly more crowded and more expensive. Bang for your buck, this pizza is the best you’re going to find.
Pizza here has quality ingredients and depth to the flavor that you do not find in pizza shops. We ended up having the chicken pesto pizza and the Anna’s favorite, backed to perfection with a crispy base, but again, top notch toppings and ingredients that make this pizza one of the best in the area.
They’ve also got live music here some nights, and they’ve got TVs for sports and a full bar with tasty drinks. If I’m ever in the area and looking for pizza, this is the spot I’ll be heading to. Hartford locals, this place is a gem and deserves your patronage!
