We reserved our dinner at 8:30pm not knowing that the place closed at 9pm on a Sunday, but that didn’t stop the staff from not serving and hosting us. From the beginning when we walked in, they were kind and considerate and were okay for my partner and I to still enjoy a great dinner even when they were about to close. The lights were aromatic and nice and dim to give a nice dinner date vibe for me and her. We started with a bottle of white wine to go with our app of fried calamari, which was seasoned with some good cajun seasoning. It was nice and crispy and the cajun was done right! Have it a nice spice to it. For our entre, I got the duck ravioli and it was done correctly! The meat was tender and fresh; and the mushroom with the sauce on it was just to drool over. It tasted amazing. Such a nice pairing to go with the ravioli. My partner got a pasta dish with shrimp and mushroom in it. She said it tasted amazingly. And the size was good enough for her to take the rest home. The wine went well with her dish. We ended the night with dessert and they were great to end after the meals. The best part was the live singing! Such a great voice the older man had while playing the piano. I’d def come back here when I return to Baltimore.

Some highlights for this typical trattoria: generous portions of freshly baked bread with a nice spread. Very tasty bruschetta (with black olives). Gigantic pasta portions. Quick service. 2 antipasti, 1 glass of wine, 2 pastas $107 which isn’t cheap but given the portion sizes, I wouldn’t say it was excessive either. A lady who probably was the owner looked exactly like my aunt’s and was on top of everything.

Great service. The pasta was disappointing. To start we had a salad, which was fantastic. Then, the main course came and I had the shrimp pesto linguine it was very bland. We also tried the scampi and it had a strong sour/ wine flavor which was unpleasant. Couldn’t even finish the food unfortunately. I wouldn’t mind giving other dishes a chance.

Sammy’s is our favorite date dinner when headed to the Meyerhoff. Staff are always extraordinary and work so hard on show nights. Food is always amazing. We can’t wait to return.

We had a great dinner! The hosts were very welcoming and our waiter was fantastic. I had the tortellini and my partner had the spaghetti. Both dishes were delicious and we’ll definitely be returning!

I’ve lived in Baltimore for 5 years now, visiting various Italian restaurants in the area – especially in the Little Italy of Baltimore. Honestly, this is best quality Italian food I’ve come across. Better than chipparellis? Yes. Better than Sabbatinos? Yes. The pasta was just excellent. I ended up purchasing the Penne alla Vodka w/ chicken, but I like it spicy so I asked if I could have some red pepper flakes with my meal. The chef actually customized the dish for me and cooked the food with the red pepper in it – it was absolutely excellent – I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Customer service was decent, the atmosphere was pretty nice. Prices were very reasonable, especially since the food was so good. This is officially my favorite Italian restaurant in Baltimore now. Highly recommend but remember – MAKE RESERVATIONS- this place is popular even on weeknights

Overall I love their food. Kinda classic Italian. No fancy decorations but more portions to serve you. In addition, they equally charge 20% tip.

This food was RIDICULOUS. Sooooo amazing, and they really wanted us to have the best! They made great recommendations and were honest about what to get, and I really appreciated that. Also the bread dip has been in my brain for weeks, I need more!
