We stopped in for dinner and a drink. I had what turned out to be the best hamburger I have had in months. Obviously made fresh, it came with fries that were almost as good. My wife had a gyro sandwich that was, according to her, as good as my burger. My drink wasl larger than I expected, but proved to be as good as the burger. The bar tended to be a little noisy at times, but what the hell, this is a bar. I also had to give five stars for the great service from the lady who also had to tend bar. The place is obviously worth coming back to, and we definitely will!

So we take a motorcycle ride up to More Brewing in Huntley and run into this very nice barkeep. We told her where we were going to eat while in town. She suggested Sammy’s. So we gave them a try.
What a delightful surprise. All 4 of us were happy with the quick service and the waitress was on it when we made changes to our order from what was on the menu. “No problem!” she told us every time we added or deleted something that came in our choices. Drinks were delivered asap. And when the food arrived I was thinking how I was going to try and eat all of it there was so much.
The whole time we were there she came over and asked us if we needed anything. My cup of coffee never got empty. And her personality was right up there with the old “down home small town” theme. We had a wonderful conversation with her. She introduced us to not only the other waitress as we went along but with all the talk of how we really enjoyed the food and service she had the owner/cook come out and we forwarded our opinion to him and expressed how we felt. I then told them that I HAD to leave a review with context to the entire experience.
I would have to say as many greasy spoons as I have been to this one is at the top of my list. And the people with me would agree to that I am sure. If your in the mood for some great breakfast with good people and are really hungry this is the place for you. Oh, and did I say the prices were actually lower for once than what we received in return?!

The sign out front boasted “BEST BREAKFAST IN TOWN”, and that was enough to make me stop in. Eggs Benedict was incredible: extra thick slices of ham, creamy hollandaise, perfectly poached eggs. Hash browns were awesome. Mimosas for all!

It might not look like much from the outside, but this is a place not to miss! The staff is incredibly attentive and is able to offer solid recommendations for both food and drink. We don’t live in the area, but we will come back every time we’re visiting!

We stopped in late after a long day, drawn by the good reviews, and we were not disappointed! The curly fries were perfectly cooked, and my husband’s tater tots were excellent. The vegetable soup was wonderful, and the pulled pork sandwich was tasty. It’s a great local spot with delicious food. I would definitely stop in again. Thanks!
