We stopped by Sammy’s Pizza Restaurant & Tavern for lunch and had a really enjoyable meal. The pizza was flavorful with a nice thin crust and a tasty sauce — classic Midwest tavern style that’s popular in this part of Minnesota.
I paired my pizza with a Caesar salad from their menu, which came with crisp romaine, Parmesan, crunchy croutons, and a creamy dressing — a solid, fresh complement to the pizza.Added chicken as an extra topping.

Great service and pizza. First time here. Won’t be the last. I stuck with their signature pizza for my first experience. It did not disappoint. Decent beer selection. Sat in the bar area and it was a nice chill vibe with many tvs and nice mellow music.

The half pound burger fills you up. You also have your choice of fries, side salad or full salad bar. It’s a no brainer to get the salad bar and you can load up your plate. The entrance door handle is only 2 feet off the ground so you have to bend down just to open the door. Never seen a door like that.

I really have mixed feelings about our visit. Our server Aly was so sweet and so amazing! 5 Stars for Aly. We ordered the red pepper tortellini on her recommendation and a chicken tetrazzini. The food was delicious. However, the wait time was awful! It took forever to get our appetizer and our soups. Then the pasta also took a long time. We spent almost 2 hours there and by the time our meals finally got served, we were ready to just head back to our hotel.

Open since 1954, they’re doing something right. The food was great, the atmosphere felt. . .not 1954, but maybe 1994? Service was okay, seemed like they were really hustling, but had too many tables to be really good.

The food is always good here! Big portions for reasonable prices. Unfortunately the server we had this night was not great did not bring drinks when asked so we had to go to the bar.. told us that there was a meal forgotten and so the kitchen was un thawing the meat in it.. which wasn’t appealing then we waited a while for a different meal so we were thinking it was forgotten. The salad bar is good, would recommend going on a Monday night so you can get the buffet!

OMG!! Been on the road with hubby for 21/2 years, been up to International falls 3 times finally tried Sammy’s….freaking AWESOME! I don’t eat pizza too much because of the crust too much bread. But their crust, just like I like it, thin and sauce is off the chain. From Georgia I know sauce!! Thanks Sammy’s will be coming back..wings good too!! Oh and the Jerk sauce for the boneless wings to die for..Please keep doing what you doing!! Sorry we ate the wings to fast to take a picture. They were too good to put down and the Ranch Gotta be homemade, it made the wings pop. And THANKS for me not having to ask for them to be wet. The extra sauce in the container was a treat. Keep up the good work!!

Posting under our “official” handle TravelingbyCarr GandR…I Falls doesn’t seem to have a lot of choices and a pizza joint sounded good…Had 2, near our motel and went with Sammy’s, because stromboli sounded good…Place wasn’t busy and our server, Nikki, was prompt & friendly…R got the Philly Cheesesteak strom. & I went with the loaded Italian…We waited…And waited…And…Nikki explained that a lot of to-go orders were being fixed…Okay but, in our years of restaurant experience, in house guests came 1st…Finally, our meals arrived…Both stroms. were large & looked good until cutting into them and finding that the bottoms of both were burnt to a crisp…The place was nice, so GandR calls it 3 stars…Nikki gets a solid 4 and the food, well, 1 star is being nice…

The Buffalo Mac and cheese was really good and filling. Huge portion. Only one IPA on tap. Possibly rotating. The Mac and cheese used Frank’s hot sauce. Or thats what I got from it. Nice place to visit.
