Ordered a 16 inch special on a Tuesday night @ 5:22… pizza didn’t get here til 7:20. Seems like an excessively long time (and almost $50 for one pie + a garlic cheese bread? The dipping marinara was pretty watery) to wait for a local spot that’s only five blocks away. At least it was hot! Crested on the outside was pretty crispy in the middle got soggy… nice amount of toppings & cheese.

Family favorite for decades. We enjoyed a celebration of life for beloved Tony Senarighi here last week. Pizza cut in squares, buffet style with salads. Great memories here for over 50 years! If you’re in Duluth be sure to hit this legendary pizza restaurant.

Definitely a good Italian pizza made by a crew that’s been doing this together for a long time, the camaraderie of the team and the diligent follow-up of the guy that is either the manager or owner was impressive and made sure they run a tight ship. The Pizza is cooked on a stone and has a magnificent crust. I was less impressed with the sausage it was llacking enough fennel and didn’t have a real strong Italian flavor) but the pepperoni was cooked perfect and cuped into a nice crisp crusts on the outer edges. Good food, fast friendly service.

Fantastic delivery service! Awesome driver with the fun snowman up front!! Unfortunately it took 1.5 hours to go a few blocks (I get it dinner rush!) but our food was not as great. We’ve eaten years and years worth of Sammy’s. It’s a families favorite. This time, The sauce on the pizza was bland, watery and thin as heck! I’m wondering if they changed the recipe The crust was sad and burnt and the garlic bread was burned too :/ this “meal” costed $45!! Definitely not worth it this time. We’ve spent so much money, time and memories eating at this restaurant and ordering from them. We are giving it 1 more chance to prove the quality and worthiness of our $ for pizza. Otherwise we are done 🙁 “yes the sauce tasted like dominos!” quoted from grandma.

We got the pesto pizza and it was very good all around. A cheezy pizza, the pizza bottom was a little flimsy; not hard or dry and the crust was perfect and flaky.
We got some spaghetti and fettuccine Alfredo . I have to say the spaghetti was kind of mid and the fettuccine too. Just seemed like the sauces weren’t quality.

Sammy’s Pizza is an institution! I live over 100 miles from here, but whenever I’m in Duluth, Sammy’s is a required stop. They have outstanding pizza, very friendly and helpful staff. Eat in, take out, have it delivered, or bring home some frozen Sammy’s Pizza. You won’t be disappointed.
They have a lunch buffet on weekdays if you happen to be available and want to sample what they have to offer. Salad bar is good and pasta is usually available as well.
I’m very partial to the special pizzas with sausage. It’s amazing, give it a try at any of their locations. If your staying in town they deliver to the local hotels too.

Sammy’s is the best pizza this side of Chicago. It reminds me of the pizzas I ate growing up on Chicago’s South Side. The staff is great, the service is very good, and the food is excellent.
