The pizza was good. The service was good. The bathrooms were clean. We went on a Friday around 12 and didn’t have to wait to be seated. Food was served quickly. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience. I just personally felt the sauce was missing flavor and pepperoni pizza was very limited on pepperoni.
Overall, wasn’t a bad experience.

December 2025: Even though we have eaten here many times in the past, I need to update my previous review based on our interaction this evening.

We drove almost an hour specifically to eat here. The chef refused to seat us, explaining he was short-staffed. He bluntly said without a greeting: ‘Sit down and I’ll get to you eventually.’

I get being short staffed and that is stressful, but there is a big difference between saying ‘I’ll get to you when I can’ versus ‘eventually.’ Because of the blunt delivery, it came across as pretty rude. We opted to leave immediately. Service isn’t like it used to be, and good pizza will only get you so far.

Original Review December 2024: We visit Sammy’s once or twice a year while in Fargo, and it’s usually a reliable favorite. Our recent Saturday visit was good overall, but the dinner rush made for a slightly different experience. I’m still giving it 5 stars due to our many positive experiences in the past.

The breadsticks were a bit disappointing—smaller than usual. However, the pepperoni and sausage pizza was still excellent, with Sammy’s usual great toppings and crispy crust.

Because we arrived at peak dinner time, the place was packed, and service was slower than usual. Despite the slower service the pizza was delicious, and the atmosphere remains casual and comfortable

I recommend Sammy’s for some of the best pizza in town! Despite these minor issues on this particular visit, our past experiences have been excellent, hence the 5-star rating.

Visiting town for homecoming and the pizza is exactly how I remembered it. The bread sticks were warm and freshly made. The meat lovers pizza was delicious. Service was friendly and quick.

This place is old school pizza joint all the way. The pizza has a thin crust and there are quite a few toppings to choose from. We had a Canadian bacon, sausage and sauerkraut pizza. I had a Coke in a bottle and my date had a beer. The pizza delicious and hot out of oven. Very nice casual and good service a classic pizza place for Fargo ND

Old school super thin and incredibly tasty pizza! Hadn’t been there before and was very happy we stopped. Beers are cold and the breadsticks and pizza were piping hot. Great smiling staff too! Well done. We will definitely be back.

Sammy’s is my must have pizza while visiting Fargo. Pizza has thin crust, cut into squares, with the perfect amount of sauce. Restaurant is rustic and quaint, close to the renowned Fargo theater.

Very laid back spot that provides excellent customer service. You can truly tell when someone loves their job, and Bryce embodies that! Originally opened in 1956. Also a cool place to check out if you’re a baseball ⚾️ fan! You can eat at the same booth where Roger Maris Dad was a regular and where Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle ate!

I arrived at 7pm and business was open until 8pm. Was told they would only do a to go order…..so I left. I wouldn’t think the order would have taken a whole hour to cook. It would have been 1 pizza for one person. Won’t be back.

I should had known when my GPS took me downtown, plus the pretentious “chef” with the handle bar mustache tossing pineapples on the dough!!! All signs that this was going to be an overpriced glorious piece of cardboard box trash. But I stay the course and my 28 dollar large pizza came out the brick oven. It is thin crust, I mean thin. Food was burnt!!! Pizza was salty got immediate heartburn!! Me n my daughter drove to the dominoes by 1530 morehead n bought another pizza to cancel out the taste!!! Oh yea I read the reviews, I always read reviews, 4.5 stars sounded good!!! Never again!! Dominoes on the right!!!
