Sammons Hot Dogs

Went through the drive-through and I got the sliders a big chief, and an ice cream cone . The sliders were cold and dry and appeared Gray in color, The burger was also cold. The fries were good But the Coke tasted like it had lemon in it. The ice cream was good and the employees were very nice I usually never have a bad experience here, but it’s been a while Thought I’d try it again and I Don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

If I could write this place a zero I would. The food has incredibly gone downhill. It is absolutely so bad. You can’t even eat it. Our burgers were soggy and our tots tasted like bad oil. Called to tell them that our food was so bad and that we lived in Kingsport and would not be able to make it back and they refused to do anything about it. Simply a waste of my $30 just for me to have to stop and spend 30 more dollars somewhere else still waiting for a call from the owner have not received that will not return and definitely do not recommend.

This was my first time here. I heard about this place over the news and wanted to try it out. I got two sliders, a hotdog, and fries. The sliders were good, and the hotdog was alright. The hotdog was (in my opinion) a little bland. The fries were a little lack-luster for “seasoned fries.” They weren’t bad at all, but just a little underwhelming. They were fresh, however, and if they had just a tad more salt or season, they’d be perfect. Now, in no way did I not like any of the food I tried. They all tasted fine, and none of them tasted horrible or like I couldn’t finish them. It just wasn’t as seasoned or as tasty as I would expect. A 4 out of 5, but no more. I will say it’s worth a try!

We are not often in Elizabethton, but bypass all other restaurants to eat at Sammons. The burgers are great and toppings so fresh. We love the big bag of seasoned fries and this visit I had a chocolate-peanut butter milkshake. Soooo good. We appreciate the outdoor seating since we travel with our little dog. In business since 1950 and I can see why. I highly recommend.

I live in Elizabethton and love Sammons, but the last few weeks there services has went down hill. I go once a week and order the same thing. The last few visits have been challenging. Place a order and they either leave something out or they mess it, and sometime they don’t understand what your say. Like if you or sprite and you invasive the word, they think you are saying fries never had a problem until now. Just like the combs they have on the side of the building, if you order a number 4 that include fries and a sweet tea. You pull up to the window and they only give you the sliders and you tell them you are missing the fries and sweet tea until now. They say everything is rung up separate like it’s your fault. What is the purpose of have combs. I don’t care how they ring up the food. When I order a #4 combs with sweet tea to drink that means I want the whole meal. Your cashier should not argue with the customer and tell the customer they didn’t order it right. It’s not the customer fault, it’s your employees fault for not ringing the order up tight. It’s poor training and management in this situation. I have been eating at Sammons for years and never had any issues till now. They need to take accountability when they make a mistake and I’m not saying customer is always right, but when someone orders food the same way every time and the past few times they keep messing up. There is a problem with staff and management. I will not go back to Sammons.

My first time trying them was earlier this week. I tried a hot dog, and sliders. The hot dog was the big seller, i was not impressed, but those sliders rivaled Krystal or dare i say white castle. Home town diner feel, reminded me of old school A&W , and i have to say, that line moved as fast as pals. We loved the fries also, We will be back.

Worst place ever! Don’t waste your $$$. I ordered 2 number 2’s and cheddar tots. One with large Tea one with large Diet. The #2 comes with a drink fries and cheeseburger. We left and looked in the bag no fries. Went to window in 25 degree temp and she argued that because I ordered a diet or something we don’t get fries. I said the pictures says drink fry and cheeseburger $8.77 plus cheese xtra. She refused to give me my fries I had to pay for 2 extra $7. Then she argued with me and slammed the window in my face. I’ve bought here for years but won’t ever go back. She tried to blame it on a new hire. I said not my problem. Horrible customer service and burger was cold. Totally screwed up a simple order and cost me $42.

awful. got there at 8:45 on tuesday, the 7th and sat at the drive through until 8:55 and they never came. they knew we were there because when we pulled in they looked straight at us. i will never go back. all we wanted was ice cream and i understand it was close to time to shut down but you are required to serve until 9pm. if you want to close earlier maybe get a job that closed shop up earlier. i say fire the ones that worked that night!!!

Uodate! Great prices and great food. Hamburgers are small so order extra. The combo of 4 hamburgers are like krystal burgers or white castle . The 1/3 pound burger is similar to a pals burger. The seasoned fries are amazing. The sweet tea is deffinetly a southern tea , it’s between a pals tea and a MCDONALD’S tea. Avoid the hot dogs, at all cost.

I drive by everyday and they always have cars in the driveway so I stopped in excited burgers are the premade bs you buy from Walmart almost no flavor and they called it a 1/4 pound yet is a 1/4 the size of a pound of meat a cheeseburger from McDonald’s is way bigger mind blowing fries say seasoned but are only potato flavored
