Went here for my birthday meal last week and loved it. As a non local we hadn’t much experience with these crabs but our server was happy to help teach us. The seasoning they put on them here is perfect! And the crabs were a really good size and delicious.

Food and view of the water were great, but the best part was the absolutely delightful employees! Highly recommend.
To note: they are cash only, but they do have an ATM. They also check IDs at the door. Lots of big tables to accommodate larger groups.

This was a great recommendation from a friend who lives in Dover. I was looking for some seafood and they didn’t disappoint. Flounder was really good and the clam chowder. Lots of people loving crab and smashing shells to get to the meat. Cash only place but an atm located inside. Nice view with the river and marsh. Friendly service and nice local folk who make you feel welcomed.

Best crab spot! Pink Himalayan salt is a unique take on how to prepare crabs, but don’t be fooled! It tenderizes, and makes the crabs so tasty! Highly recommend! Great view over the riverbank too! Cash only btw, and it’s for adults only!

Sambo’s is a tavern so it is not going for Michelin stars. But the food is excellent and the wait staff helpful and pleasant. Was a reunion of college friends, and some shared a dozen crabs. We all had something different and good to eat. Walked in without a reservation but there was plenty of room for 7 and don’t think we bothered the other patrons. Only down side is taking g ONLY CASH but we knew that ahead of time and it does help keep the cost down.

Awesome little tavern! The food was excellent, the staff was pleasant and very welcoming, and the service was on point. I’ve tried the Crab bisque, Crab cakes( lump meat with very little filler), fried flounder, pasta salad, and potato salad…nothing disappointed, everything was fresh and prepared nicely. I will definitely be returning soon. Overall, great little tavern with fresh seafood prepared perfectly.

Had one of the best eating experiences here. It’s been a family run business for 71 years. I talked with Elva (spelling?) and April provided the best service. Some of the nicest people I ever met.
Ambiance is awesome and the food was so amazing. I ordered raw oysters and half dozen blue crabs and it was the most delicious. I hope you be able to bring my family back here.

First time here. It is a nice little place. We went with my elderly parents who both use a walker, although they didn’t have a designated handicap access the staff were very kind and allowed us to go in through the kitchen because they had a ramp there. I loved the inside nothing really fancy but cute and you can see the water from most seats in the back section. The food was very good. My husband had the crab cakes delicious, my father had fried scallops again delicious. My mother and I had the crab imperial it was very good although I have never had cheese on my crab imperial and if I ever got it there again I would have the cheese left off. The hushpuppies, cole slaw and potato salad also very good. It was on the pricey side, but seafood usually is. I like that it was by the water and we could see the crab and fishing boats coming in. Many of the guest were eating the crabs so I’m guessing they must be pretty good. Our server Terrilynn was very attentive. Overall I enjoyed our experience there and would mostly like go again next year ____________________ April 29, 2024, our second time back here and the food is still good. My Dad, Husband and I all had the crab cakes and they were delicious, No fillers. Our server this time was April another good food, good service visit.
