We went here for lunch on a Saturday after hearing about it at Accordia. The food was made with so much care and attention to detail. You can tell the chef loves what he does and takes pride in his place. It definitely makes this place a special addition to Staunton. I called ahead to ask if they had gluten free options. They had several gluten free options and I was told that if you make reservations ahead of time, they can accommodate special dietary needs. Even without giving them a heads up I still was able to find several different delicious gf options.

Sama Sama is such a needed and welcome addition to the Staunton food scene! My partner and I split the beet salad, moussaka, and pumpkin crème brulee and loved every bite. The moussaka was a particular hit, somehow both light and luxurious at the same time. We also sampled a number of N/A drinks from their extensive list and were blown away by the unique and varied options. Overall such a great experience in a comfortable space with lovely staff. We can’t wait to go back and recommend everyone go support this up and coming Staunton business!

Elevated food in a relaxed setting! Best boeuf bourguignon I’ve had in years, and truly a lovely chicken pot pie. I loved the creative desserts and featured directions. Friendly staff. I’ve always left feeling rejuvenated in spirit; nice members of the community are there too. This is a sister business to our beloved Accordia wine shop, all on Beverly Street.

Great place to come for cocktails and dessert. I Want to give this review a 5 but some small improvements are needed on the dinner side. The Moussaka was super tasty but a small portion size. It would be an okay portion size if a side was served with it, but by itself it was not enough food. For the price you would have expected a larger portion size or side. The tuna udon dish, I only have a few comments on. The tuna was cooked perfectly. The udon noodles were tasty. When I think of udon noodles I picture thick noodles. These noodles were the thickness of spaghetti noodles and need to be more thick. Overall I was very satisfied with this dish.

Excellent in all categories. Our first visit but we will be back. The chef and staff were very friendly and took the time to talk to all customers. Food was excellent. Small and quaint and we ended up talking to others sitting near on each side of us. Very impressed how they kept up with everything with a small staff and a very busy Saturday dinner hour! Making a reservation is smart due to size and popularity growing. You can tell they want everyone to enjoy the experience there!

We had an amazing multi-course dinner at Sama Sama for Valentine’s Day! The staff was very knowledgeable and provided great service and the food was delicious. You can tell chef Franz cares deeply about his craft, and there was so much flavor, thought, and passion put into every course. It was awesome to hear his explanation of the food and how it is sourced locally. What a great addition to the downtown Staunton community and definitely a must try while in the area!

This was our first time eating here. We really enjoyed the food and cocktails especially the Pork Belly’s and Corn Ribs!! The chef and su chef have created some very unique and delicious dishes and cocktails. It was great talking to them about the restaurant and the dishes they have created.
