I started with a mango lassi, and it was the perfect beginning. Nice, creamy, and wonderfully delicious, it was a refreshing treat that hit all the right notes.
But the real star of the show was their chicken tikka and veggie rice burrito. This wasn’t just a burrito; it was a flavor explosion! Packed with succulent chicken tikka and flavorful veggie rice, and loaded with every topping they offer, this burrito was, as the kids say, “bussin’ bussin’.” Every bite was a fantastic mix of textures and spices – a truly unforgettable experience.
If you’re looking for a place that takes familiar flavors and turns them into something extraordinary, Sam and Curry is a must-try. I’m already planning my next visit!
I ordered a chicken tika bowl from them for lunch, picked up and went home. As I was eating it, I noticed a steel wire in my bowl, about 1.5 inches long. Now I always chew my food and eat it slow, so I wasn’t really affected or hurt by the wire; but knowing how long and sharp this thing is, it’s definitely possible someone might get seriously hurt if they’re not as careful.
I called the store, telling the employee there’s a wire in my food and they should investigate and throw out whichever ingredients that came with wire packaging and might be affected. The lady named Delma didn’t understand me at first, keeping on asking me which salsa she wrongfully put in my food. I asked her to get someone that speaks English, and she just hung up. I called again, explaining I’m not trying to ask for a refund, but rather warn them about the potential safety issues that might cause serious injury if not handled appropriately; she seemed to understand at least the issue is about the food, but told me she’s the only one in store that speaks a little English. I asked her for her manager’s number, to which she answered she had no manager. I told her to investigate and / or throw out the food, which she refused and told me to call back later, but what if someone already bought and ate the food with embedded wires?! It just pissed me off that I was trying to warn them about food safety and all they did was brush me off. All of this was under the best case assumption that the wire came from food packaging. What if it’s from something else, something even more dangerous?
All that is to say, I wouldn’t go back to Sam & Curry after this visit. That is not to say their food doesn’t taste good; in fact, it really does which is why I kept coming back. But is it worth it to potentially get hurt? Absolutely not.
I tried a mix of their chaats + curry bowls, and every bite was packed with layers — spiced chickpeas, pickled onions, tangy chutneys, crispy sev, and grilled veggies. The toppings bar makes it easy to load up with all your favorites (yes, extra corn + chutneys is the move ️).
The space itself is playful with bright murals, making it a fun casual hangout. Pro tip: grab a Thumbs Up soda on the side for the full desi street-food experience .
Would definitely recommend if you’re craving something quick, flavorful, and different from the usual.
