However, our Valentine’s Day reservation was unfortunately a major disappointment for us. Similar to a previous review, we were seated at the same table with three different couples. For a special occasion that we had high expectations for, this was quite uncomfortable. The couple sitting across from us expressed their dissatisfaction in a rather harsh way and were moved to a proper table within about 10 minutes. We, on the other hand, addressed the situation calmly and politely, yet our seats were not changed.
At the end of the evening, we asked for assistance in calling a taxi, but no taxi was arranged for a full hour. This made the night end on an even more negative note.
To be honest, the overall service did not feel professional and did not justify the price we paid. I went there with high expectations and I’m genuinely disappointed that we did not receive the level of service we hoped for.
There were clearly guests who left very happy we saw that ourselves. Some people were treated exceptionally well. Unfortunately, we did not receive the same level of attention or service. Because of this, the experience felt like a gamble you either receive excellent service or you risk having a disappointing evening like ours. It seems that not the entire team operates at the same professional standard. There are strong aspects, but also serious inconsistencies.
We were also disappointed with the way the food was served. The starters and the main course arrived at the same time. For a place that seems to position itself in the fine dining category, having everything served at once felt quite inadequate. The pasta was cold. I want to emphasize that it wasn’t even lukewarm, in case someone might think it cooled down during service.
The taste of the seafood may also disappoint you if your expectations are as high as the restaurant’s interior design.
Also, looking back at the evening as a whole, I have to say that the service was not good. The staff was not particularly attentive, and overall the attitude felt indifferent rather than welcoming.
Unfortunately, the experience became even worse when we were leaving. The restaurant is located quite far from the city center — roughly a 40-minute walk — and it was already late at night. Because of that, we asked the staff if they could call a taxi for us or at least provide a taxi number. Surprisingly, they refused to help and simply told us to walk. Being told to walk from a restaurant that positions itself as fine dining, late at night, and that far from the center was honestly shocking.
At that point the entire evening turned into a very frustrating and disappointing experience. It’s one thing for the food to be underwhelming, but ending the night with such an unhelpful and dismissive attitude from the staff made it far worse than we expected.
To sum up, don’t come here with very high expectations; just a very cheap version of Cipriani. The flavors and service are not at a level that would stand out internationally. It feels more like a place that is considered good mainly because it fills a gap in a small city like Skopje. Overall, don’t go out of your way expecting great value for your money.
Don’t expect the flavors to be altered for local preferences — what you experience here is how the dishes were originally conceived generations ago in Italy. The recipes are executed with integrity, without compromise.
Chef Giovanni, a charismatic and knowledgeable Sicilian, personally visited our table to introduce himself and walk us through the meal. With extensive international experience — having worked in some of the most prestigious kitchens across Europe — his culinary roots run deep in the traditions of Italian gastronomy.
Everything served is cooked in-house and à la minute. Compared to previous visits, the food has evolved significantly — more refined, more confident, and unmistakably authentic.
The service is nothing short of exceptional — in fact, unlike anything else currently available in Skopje. Every detail seems to have been thought through before you even realize you needed it.
The interior design is remarkable — a careful curation of original pieces and a rare book collection that speaks to taste and investment in quality. There are no imitations here; every decorative element is genuine and thoughtfully chosen.
Salvatore doesn’t just serve food — it offers a transported experience of Italy, in every sense of the word.
A word of advice: don’t miss the premium cuts of meat — the quality is absolutely fantastic.

If that wasn’t enough, they have apparently changed chefs so their food quality has dropped to less than mediocre. They served grilled Salmon 90% raw without any sides. Any restaurant in Skopje can prepare the same food for a fraction of the price.
If you want your special event to remain special, you can probably find much better.
The only good thing about it was the waiter with the short hair who serves at the terrace and the curly haired hostess. They were both very attentive and nice. The other hostesses were acting like some cynical high-school girls.
Everything homemade, fresh and to the point. Clean in every corner of the restaurant. Why am I missing a star?
When the bill arrived I paid by card and told the waiter that I would like to tip him in cash, which he said is ok. What he did not tell me is that the bill already included a fee for the service. As I spoke english all the time with him he should be aware that I should not be able to read the bill. For such a loving and caring environment, he should have told me and I am not saying that he did it on purpose, it was a “mistake”
There are no quality managers, and as well as people who are hustle and they are always there for you. I have remembered one nice, polite, knowledgeable tall manager who was super kind to us in all restaurants including SushiCo in Skopje.
