Honestly, I was headed to a different Mexican restaurant, when I stumbled on the Salty Senorita. Truth be told there was only 1 car in the parking lot and I thought for a moment that the locals must know this place is not good. Feeling adventurous I sauntered in anyway. Now the exterior is not much to look at and doesn’t exactly scream authentic Mexican food, but when I saw the hand painted booths from Mexico as I came in, I knew I was onto something. A friendly guera greeted me instantly. I saw another guera moving in the back and walk toward the kitchen. I was pre-judging the place by all the guera’s working here began to again doubt the sincerity of the authenticity of the Mexican food as the sign claimed. Nevertheless, I sat down and ordered a sweet tea as I glanced over what appeared to be a fairly standard Mexican restaurant menu. (see photos) The tea arrived in short order and I expected it to be a Lipton syrup tea or similar. I didn’t verify, but it tasted like it and was acceptable, but it didn’t have a real brewed taste. ( I am very picky about my tea). I ordered a California Burrito because it has 3 layers with beef, shrimp, and chicken and 3 sauces, green, cheese, and red salsa. The first thing i noticed was the size of this thing! It was a huge burrito with a ton of rice! The rice was cooked to perfection and was mildly flavored. The green salsa had a bit too much lemon flavor but complimented the Burrito just fine. The cheese sauce was spot on.
Now the most important part of any Mexican restaurant is the complimentary Chips and Salsa. You can fill up on these if they are delicious and just coast through a meal that doesn’t taste great. These Chips and Salsa did not disappoint. The salsa was spot on! I asked a lady who appeared to be Mexican if the salsa was made in house and she said it was. It felt good to speak with someone who spoke Spanish and she seemed delighted that I complimented the salsa as being sabrosa! I finished off my delicious meal with a slice of turtle cheesecake. She said the cakes were not homemade but I tried it anyway. It was great. I certainly recommend this place and the place did get busy as I ate my meal, so I guess the locals do know!

If I could post 10 stars, I would! I always have such a great experience at Saltys. The servers were super attentive and so kind. The salty enchiladas are so good and I love their fresh salsa. It was definitely enough food for leftovers and very reasonably priced. Everything was absolutely excellent! I could not be more pleased! Thank you Salty Señorita for such a great experience!

Honestly worst Mexican food I’ve ever had. My chicken was dry and had no flavor I couldn’t swallow it. My girlfriend’s rellano dish had an inch thick of soft doughy like batter on it that smelled and tasted like funnel cake. Funnel cake and peppers?

Place was packed when we went in for lunch at 1pm on Wednesday, so we got seated in the upper dining room which was appreciated and so quiet. ☺️ The service was excellent and so was the food. Chips were fresh, salsa delicious. We shared the nachos supremos, more than enough for two. White queso was great as well. Our guests had the chimichangas, and quesadillas, and they were excellent as well. All around great first visit.

Best Mexican food we’ve had in Arkansas. They just opened this last month and are waiting on their liquor license. Good service and staff seemed happy to be there. Prices were fair and portions were bog enough to take some home for later.

I was the first person in the restaurant, so busy cannot be an excuse. Walked in to place a to go order, there were no forks in the bag. Chicken was hard, dry, and overcooked. Requested grilled jalapeños, there were none.

Great place for Mexican food in Mountain Home. Beautifully decorated tables and seating. The food was good, I wasn’t used to having a Chimichanga made with ground beef and not fajita meat, but it was good. The chips were nice and warm, and the salsa was excellent and seemed to be homemade. They had an apple cider margarita for the season, and it was pretty good.
