What cool place to hang out! The vibe and atmosphere are on point. The servers were all attentive and friendly. The food was good. I ordered the smoked platter with pork, brisket, and ribs. My only complaint would be that the meat was dry. But with three different sauces to choose from I was able to overcome that. The flavor was good. Skip the banana pudding and go for the cheesecake instead.

Really cool place with a great atmosphere. We were attracted to this place while traveling because of the wide variety of menu options. Sides and appetizers were amazing but bbq was not the best. The brisket was sliced with the grain which made for an interesting texture and the flavor was missing. I would try again but maybe order something else. Service was amazing though.

Food was amazing definitely love the egg rolls brisket and the chicken one , everything was served w fries for the most part . Highly recommend giving them a try, our server wasn’t tending to us much didn’t like that but I still have her a tip because the food was good not because of the service.

We visited here while on a family trip to the area. The location is pretty good, I like that it’s out of the hustle and bustle of Hammond, but close enough that you can easily stop in after shopping or doing activities.
There is plenty of parking in the back, which was a little disguised and worried us at first. But we easily found a spot. The atmosphere is really nice. It was inviting and I enjoyed the decor. Service was also friendly.
The food was hit or miss for us. For example, the fried pickles were the best we’ve ever had, but the boudin egg rolls weren’t really boudin like at all. Growing up in New Orleans, this seemed more like dirty rice with pork egg rolls.
The BBQ pork po-boy was good, whereas we paid approximately 20.00 for a plate of brisket that came with three dry slices. The rub was good, but overall the brisket was really lacking. The mac-n-cheese and BBQ pork burrito was just okay according to our son. The mac just wasn’t macking.
I think that we would come here again on a future trip to try different dishes. It’s definitely a unique restaurant!

AMAZING! Put this gem on your must try restaurants. The atmosphere is laid back. It’s family style. There are games to play, an old trolly to see, fun decorations and the best BBQ. We ordered brisket poboys and fried catfish. Everything was great! Service was excellent as well.

Our visit to SaltyJoe’s was good all around. Our server Brooke was very pleasant, and provided prompt service. She was also helpful in describing various menu options.
The Smoky burger I had was delicious, and obviously hand-crafted. My wife had a barbecue combo plate which was huge. All three meat options on it were delicious. They have a nice selection of beverages, too.
We dined at Salty Joe’s at peak time on Saturday evening. The staff handled the rush very well, though, even with kids baseball team to serve. Our favorite feature at the restaurant was their bar crafted from a real vintage school bus. Salty Joe’s is quite worth the short detour from the interstate.

Great restaurant! Our first time there. Food was great! Service was great and price was reasonable. We had the onion rings and grilled chicken egg rolls for appetizers. Not to much and not to little. My wife had a shrimp poboy and I had a smoked sausage poboy. The only thing is I wish they would have put a link of sausage instead of sliced pieces. Highly recommend!

I visited this place for the first time last Sunday, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The wait for the food was definitely worth it. I started with the belly pork appetizer, which was quite good, and it was even better the next day when I reheated it. Even the ribs I ordered stayed tender and tasty. Overall, it was a great experience and worth both the money and the wait. I’ll definitely swing by again when I happen to be passing through town.

Wow, why wouldn’t you give this place 5 stars? We had an amazing experience!!! The moment we walked in the door they greeted us like family. The food was awesome and the service was exceptional!! Kelsey was on top of things. We came here with reasonable expectations but we will always come back!! Outstanding overall and what a neat place to boot!! Oh and they are pet friendly on the patio!!
