Good location downtown around other things to do. Uniquely decorated with local art that speaks to the city. A good choice for a nice meal with a calm ambience! Great service! Attentive and friendly staff. Even better food! There are plenty of fresh seafood options that stand out over places that just have fried food. A good variety of seafood too. Delicious flavors! The drinks were made well. They were tasty and had a good amount of alcohol. Would highly recommend! We plan on coming back every time we are in town.

This place was Fantastic! The food was incredible. We got the Seabass and Crab, one of the specials, gumbo, truffle fries, chef lobster creation. We will be back to try more food. I much prefer this place over another “popular” spot down the street. Best seafood I have had in Galveston to date.

Tonight our stop should have been Hearsay but despite their posted hours they aren’t open. Whats going on on this town? Consistency is key and nothing down town is consistent.
I brought a friend out and we ended up at saltwater. A local gem but it seems to have changed a lot. There’s no lobster tanks . We sat at the bar. I will say with 25 years of bar experience and in a world that’s changed and doesn’t value the trade Shaun was hands down the best bartender I’ve had the pleasure of being served by in the last 15 years, other than my son but he’s new and trained by me.
Shaun was attentive, engaging talked to all of his customers even stopped to adjust a toilet in the ladies room without skipping a beat . The rest of the staff were all lovely as well.
The meal was delicious and properly served but I did have the seared scallops shrimp dish and compared to the local competitors those were the smallest scallops I’ve seem. Tasty but tiny.
The only other issue was the creepy guy posted up in the opposite of a cop seat ( a cop seat is where you watch the door, he was watching us ) at the end of the bar. Drinking not eating and staring . Not sure if he was security or hunting . With actual bars on the block it didn’t give the best vibe for two women alone.

Quiet, upscale restaurant in the middle of The Strand. Absolutely loved the food! The Big Daddy’s Gumbo is incredible and large enough to feed three. The Seafood Trio is also a must-try. Everything has an elevated French cuisine feel while still being warm and homey. Even the sourdough bread was amazing — so good that I asked if they sold it separately!

Always a great experience. Best crab cake on the planet. Large salads, great steak and shrimp options. Dessert looked so good, but next time. Wine and cocktail selection has something for every taste and budget. Not to be missed if dining in Galveston.

We were visiting Galveston from out of state. We were advised to go to Katie’s, but they were closed. We walked past Saltwater Grill and popped in on a whim. no regrets.
The service was quick. Our waiter was excellent and educated in the seafood business.
My husband and I both ordered lobster bisque soup and chopped salad with salmon. That was the BEST salmon I have ever had. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely go back.
