I really enjoyed stopping in here after 9pm on 10/10/25. My husband and I can here for late bites and cocktails. I found this restaurant based in a google search and their high reviews so I figured I should go and try it and I am glad we did!
Our server Connie was extremely impressive, she was very attentive and she had a very nice personality.
We decided to try the printed seasonal menu and 2 hand-crafted cocktails.
We both loved our bar drinks, and the food was delicious and packed with flavor. We assume the food is Asian inspired by the flavors we enjoyed. We were happy to be guests here with this level of detail and cooking. Big Mike has quite a lovely selection and he impressed us both! Keep up the excellent work and cooking!

I take issue with most restaurants these days. Not everything is what it used to be. However, Saltwater Social by Big Mike in Highlands is an exception. The food, the atmosphere and the hospitality are second to none. The variety and quality of food is amazing, there’s something for everyone. Everything is top notch in a casual, welcoming setting. Although it’s well over an hour from where we live, it’s well worth the trip. We had the Caesar Salad, we had Meatballs, Shrimp Fried Rice, Tuna Tartar/Crispy Rice Sushi and more. Everything was great, fresh and well served. Friendly staff! Highly recommend.

We went here for my wife’s birthday with a small group. The place is small, but the layout and decor was cool. The service was excellent and the food was even better. The menu doesn’t have a ton of options, but everything we ordered was outstanding.

Great place with friendly service and delicious food. Started with an apple salad which was fresh and more than enough for two people. The eggplant parm was not made in the traditional manner but was more crispy and full of flavor. The roasted chicken was juicy and mashed potatoes were perfectly made. Our server was excellent and one of the Mikes made an awesome pistachio martini. Other cocktails were right on point. See you again soon.

We came in to taste the food and look at the upstairs space for a bridal shower. We were blown away by the quality and deliciousness of everything we had. The staff was amazing as well. Offered a lot of information on the different dishes on the menu. We started with Chicken Tostadas, the meatballs, pork belly buns, and a pizza. The Chicken Tostada was the best I have had. The pizza is a perfect thin crust and full of flavor. The meatballs will give any Italian grandma a run for her money. My entree was the shrimp over risotto and was delicious as well. I can’t wait to go back! Defiantly a place to check out!!!

Saltwater Social came highly recommended and it turned out better than expected! Really cool bar with a great vibe! Dining room upstairs was spacious but beware the stairs. Food was delish and beer selection was top-notch. Was craving a burger and it hit the spot! Wife had the skirt steak with an Asian flair which made for a great combo! I can only imagine how busy they’ll get in summer season so be sure to make a reservation! Definitely worth returning with the rest of my family and friends!

This place is a gem in Highlands! It’s a cute place with a modern atmosphere. The bar was packed on a Tuesday! We sat at a table and had dinner. We ordered the local clam chowder soup without bacon. It didn’t have much clams, but it was creamy and very good! For dinner we had the lobster fried rice and the Fluke Francese. Both were EXCELLENT! The Fluke Francese was fresh, and the orzo Alfredo was DELICIOUS! They ave a nice amount of lobster in the fried rice and the fried rice had a delicious flavor to it! For dessert we had the crumb cake and cookies. The crumb cake was good, but the cookies it came with were ever better! The cookies tasted they were fresh out the oven! All the portions were huge and shareable. Service was very friendly. I highly recommend Saltwater Bar And Kitchen By Big Mike in the Highlands!

Stopped by with my wife during the day last week for lunch. We hadn’t been previously, but decided to try it based on the “better than most” Google Reviews. We ate at the longish bar, which was comfortable, well lit and clean. We ordered sandwiches (Nashville Chicken Sandwich, Purple Haze Eggplant Sandwich) with fries. Both sandwiches and fries were excellent. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, too. We plan on going back for dinner soon, and hope it’s just as good as lunch was. We’ve had some difficulty finding consistently good restaurants in the area, but feel this place might make that short list! We’ll see. Finally, it strikes me as an excellent place to go with friends for drinks/food at the bar, or in the dining section with family/friends of any age.

First time eating here. Dinner was superb. I had Blackened Sea Bass with a chimichurri sauce. It came with a special rice, but I opted for a side of mixed veggies instead. The fish was fresh and delicious, and all was cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and pleasant.
All in all it was an amazing dining experience. Can’t wait to go back again.

Super friendly staff. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised about the fish tacos, as most chefs over cook fish. Go on Taco Tuesdays for a great deal. The pork chop schnitzel is amazing, and the portion is huge. Liquor cost is very high.
