We were excited to come to this spot since the menu online looked great. We ordered exactly what was suggested (which was about all the apps)and one entree (catfish). Food was more than disappointing since the basics were missed from overcooked hushpuppies to pork belly that looked to be sitting in a warmer all night. I understand being ready on Friday night to put the food out, but it was dead and the food was almost instant. Fish dip was cream cheese with the flavor of aged fish- calamari was greasy and didn’t feel freshly fried. Best thing was the catfish entree but it came in with the burnt hushpuppies. Needless to say we are all in the food business and could tell when the wheels came off the bus. Service was good and atmosphere was decent. It would take a lot to get us to try again.

Absolutely delicious! This place is amazing. The atmosphere is very unique and intriguing, but comfortable. It is inside an old converted elementary school. All of the food was amazing. I would especially recommend the spinach oysters! This area gets very busy on the weekends, but you can typically find parking somewhere…

Saltine is known for their oysters, but the Saltine Burger and fries absolutely hold their own.
The burger was juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The fries were crispy, hot, and the perfect side. You can tell they focus on quality across the board.
The atmosphere has that clean, coastal vibe without feeling over the top, and the service is consistently on point. Whether you’re going for seafood or a solid burger, Saltine always delivers in Jackson.

Visit could have been better. There was a wait to be seated. When we arrived there was no host/hostees at the front. After we were seated there was quite a wait for a server as well. We did visit on a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant was busy so maybe we caught them on a bad day.
Thankfully the food was outstanding as always!

It’s my first time coming here, and I’d have to say it’s very ritzy. I’m assuming this is more seafood themed as most foods off the menu has seafood products with some exceptions. Anyways, met my server Hayden who’s quite entertaining and amusing, and I ordered an appetizer… I think the seafood toast? Regardless, I really enjoyed the buttery bread, yum! I love bread and carbs too much, but I followed it with seafood pasta, which gives me a cajun flavor to be honest, but it’s still overall tasty and delicious. I’ll have to try out other menu options, but it’s very pleasant indeed .

Great po’boys, refreshing drinks AND THE BEST DESSERT: the banoffee. We were just passing thru town googling great places to eat and we were extremely pleased with Saltine Restaurant. You have to try it! We also learned that it’s in a hip neighborhood. So if you have time – go explore.

Every time I come to this restaurant, I never have a bad experience. Everything is always amazing!! The oysters are always fabulous and the sides are always masterfully done, too! Great pink lemonade and sweet tea (it’s just right for me). This time I got the Oysters Lafitte and asparagus. The Oysters Lafitte is wonderful! They were unique, perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful, and the vinaigrette complimented the Oysters very much, and the asparagus was great too! And afterwards I had one of my favorite desserts off the menu which is their Cinnamon Roll Cheesecake, and let me tell you it is OUTRAGEOUSLY GOOD!!! It is so rich, decadent, and the textures of the cinnamon roll and the cheesecake compliment each other so well. It tastes like it is wrapped in a satin cinnamon dress and beautifully adorned with a pecan crumble and caramel. I’ve also had their key lime tart which is also fantastic The service is always so sweet and accommodating. And the ambiance is so cool and kind of vintage. The only thing is it can be a bit cold in there. But other than that, everything is awesome.

The overall restaurant is so beautiful I love the way they decorated everything and the bar area is so nice. They had nice spaces for parties, delicious food, and the staff were so sweet. Everything we ate was sooooo good especially the pasta and we tore up those crab tips with that sauce

The atmosphere is really nice. The server didn’t seem too knowledgeable of the menu – suggesting salmon as opposed to local seafood. Also, the bar tender wasn’t familiar with gins when I asked if they had Hendricks and eventually served a martini with vodka. The grilled oysters were great. Do NOT order the crawfish bread. There were only 4 crawfish tails in total on this $16 appetizer. I felt totally ripped off. We ended up ordering more oysters because those were only things they seemed to do really well. I won’t return.
