Jason is a superior bar tender. Watching him work with a good team is the difference between a good restaurant and a 5 star high class steak house. He has no problem to take control and serve the customers even if some waiters have issues. I don’t know why he is not a manager. He should be a manger and train bar tenders, waiters and service. Mari hands down the best bartender & server!!!! She made wonderful drinks, made us feel like family from the start & I haven’t had this level of customer service at a restaurant in a LONG time. The manager even made recommendations & the entire staff worked as a team. Note: happy hour specials had a nice variety.

We come here yearly for my brother’s bday. I have to say our last visit was very good! I believe our server’s name was Darren, and he offered us a great experience. Which is hard to get these days. He was friendly, my food was served nice and hot and our table was prebussed as necessary. The way it should be! Ty!

Came through for happy hour and started off with the fried mushrooms , & Range Rattlers (a little too spicy for me). My friend liked the idea but felt the breading could’ve used a bit more seasoning. For drinks, we tried the Classic Margarita and Tito’s Texas Tea—both were solid, but that Texas Tea was definitely the standout. I’ll be grabbing that again on my next visit! Wasn’t a fan of the bread you receive while you wait. It was terribly dry. However, our server was great.

I went to Saltgrass for lunch last week and had a great experience! The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. They usually have a little trouble getting my wife’s steak cooked medium well, but this location got it perfect on the first try. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. The food came out hot and fresh, and overall it was one of the best Saltgrass visits we’ve had. Definitely recommend this location!

While in Houston in February 2026, we met up with friends who were staying there with family, and we mentioned that we wanted to try a good steakhouse. They brought us to Saltgrass, and we were certainly not disappointed.
Even though we had been restaurant hopping all day and weren’t starving, my wife and I shared the Pat’s Ribeye 16-ounce steak with sweet potato fries. We added some blue cheese on top, just like we enjoy at home, and it was excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium rare, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
Our waiter took great care of us, bringing a pitcher of iced tea for the table. I also enjoyed the German Bock on tap, which paired wonderfully with the steak. The beer bread was another highlight—delicious and flavourful, though I purposely didn’t fill up on it before the main course.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have room for dessert, but everything else made for a very satisfying meal. If I return to Houston, Saltgrass will definitely be on my list—hopefully next time, I’ll be hungrier!

I had an excellent experience at Saltgrass! Darren, our server, was absolutely fantastic—attentive, conscientious, and made the whole afternoon feel special.
We started with the fried pickles, and let me tell you… best fried pickles I’ve ever had! Crispy, flavorful, and addictive. For my entrée, I chose the crab cakes with a side salad and Brussels sprouts—everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious.
I’ll definitely be going back, and I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for great food and even better service.

I forgot to rate thus place but we had a company meeting here and they provided us great service. Amazing service tonight ! We had at least 3 or 4 servers stopping by to check in on us while our main server handled a large party. Really great experience because most other restaurants where your server is handling a large party you tend to get forgotten, but not tonight!
If you are gluten free you have options and a separate menu to order from but be sure to be very specific that you are ordering the gluten free version. They have gluten free bread (bun) that they bring out if you ask for it!
