We sat at the bar. The service manager was also the bartender. He was very attentive and helpful with the order. They brought back their redfish dish that I absolutely love, so I will be back for that soon. They also have started a 2 for 22 deal. Excuse my pic of the steak dinner. I forgot to take the pic until after I cut it. Come and check it out. Good food. Good employees. Good service.

First time at this location. I haven’t visited one since the 1st one in New Orleans which was a horrendous experience.

I was in the mood for a steak and since longhorn in the areas gone and the other options not so great I decided to give it a whirl.

Located right next to Mercedes Benz in Covington.

There is apparently a rewards program not directly they saltgrass but the parent company LANDRYS select club. Pay 25$ for it (it’s refunded right back in 5 min in form of a gift card) earn points and get select experiences at other hotels, venues and dining experiences throughout the country with Landry affiliates.

I’m going to go ahead and put out there if u trying to dine on a budget this isn’t the place. menu is expensive. Most expensive steakhouse I’ve been in since Texas de Brazil (not really a SH) and the place under the dolphin hotel in Orlando.

I went ahead with the porterhouse. One of my main complaints at the Vets location was time it took to receive service over 10 min for a beer and others that arrived later than us got their food first. I got none of that here. Everything was hot and fresh in timely manners. My server Katelyn was excellent and gave me some excellent recommendations on the side ( the brussel sprouts) and most popular drinks ( Tito’s Texas tea)

The brussel sprouts were excellent even though they weren’t steamed. The steak was out of this world better than the outlaw Ribeyes I’ve had at longhorn. Even the 2 drinks pomegranate mojito an TTT were delicious.

Staff was way friendlier at this location. One of the managers made rounds checking on clients. Brought out my food and answered one of my questions cheerfully.

Will return soon to try more items. This saltgrass location is a night and day difference from the one in New Orleans. I’m actually sad it took this long to go to the Covington location

Everything was great. The steak was very cooked perfectly to medium rare. Great service and good food. I learned that everything is made in house. This impressed me, considering this is a chain. The breads and deserts are all house made. This is my current favorite chain restaurant.

Excellent visit. Cassie was awesome and made the experience so enjoyable. We had ribeye and fillet which were both delicious and cooked perfectly. Only complaint is how fast the main course came out since it beat the salads out. Sauce trio was great take on chips and salsa with 3 different dips. Also tried several drinks: Texas tea, Southside 45, frozen crown and coke, amaretto splash. We loved them all. We’re barely had room for dessert but we’re managed to share a banana pudding. We can’t wait to go back and try all the other things on the menu that looked delicious.

First time visiting Saltgrass and first impressions were okay. I think the restaurant has a great decor and the host was very inviting and friendly. Jordyn was our server and she was great! The first salad I had, I had to send back because the lettuce looked old and it was not fresh. The second salad, however, was a lot better. I had the salmon and my mom had the red fish with green beans. The fish dishes were excellent, however, I was not impressed with the brussel sprouts. My dad had the surf n turf. The shrimp were good he said but the steak was mediocre. We may give Saltgrass another try again in the future.

The ribeye and ribs were delicious along with the sides. Ribeye- tender, juicy and well-seasoned. The ribs were just about falling off the bone and had an unctuous barbecue sauce. The only thing that left me a bit flat was the chocolate doberge cake that was intended to have the consistency of a cake ball, which I thought was OK, but I would much rather a different chocolate dessert. The server was really great and it has a nice atmosphere. Looked like a slow night for them. Probably deserves a bit over 4 stars for what we had, but a busy night is a truer test, of course.

Our date night was awesome. Our server Stephanie was super nice & she also made my wife’s drink excellent, a Michelada. The food was delicious, the chicken breast & the filet were both cooked perfectly and the fried asparagus my wife said was yummy. We will definitely be going back to that location in Covington, Louisiana.

The waiter and waitress were both really nice. The steak was done to perfection on my end. Also get a lot of food portion for the price.

We ate here during the soft opening and the staff and food were delicious. We had Blue Margarita and Ginger Peach Lemonade, both were refreshing, they will even make a Bushwacker for you if you ask. We had the spinach and artichoke dip for appetizer. Lunch was Baby Back Ribs with Green Beans and the Grilled Shrimp Platter with Brussel sprouts. Both were delicious. The ribs were tender and delicious and the green beans were delicious. The shrimp and Brussels sprouts were amazing. We will be back here again.

Service was decent. We went in with a large group of almost 20 people. We arrived early, and were seated early. I had a double ranch water and it was tasty and potent.

Our group had appetizers too
Brisket queso nachos, cheesy fries, fried mushrooms, bread and butter. All were pretty good. I had the beef bacon wrapped Filet, Oscar topping, grilled shrimp, fried asparagus, and Mac n cheese.

The Mac n cheese was supposed to be smoked, but it didn’t come through. The filet was nice and tender, bacon flavorful. The oscar crabmeat topping was flavorful and not fishy. It had very very flavorful capers.

The juices soaked into the asparagus and made em reeeeaaal good. Good choice. The plating was intentional and artistic with a diamond pattern.

Overall I enjoyed myself. But I will not choose to go here because I am not a big fan of steakhouses. I could feel my gut was tired the next day. All the food was heavy and difficult to digest. Beef, cow dairy, and wheat heavy. Surely we could have picked differently. It seems there were a few options, not extensive, for other diets.
