Our Ballard shop sits in the heart of the waterfront district with a rich maritime history and vibrant modern food and drink scene. Once an independent city (with an independent spirit to match), Ballard was home to a bustling Scandinavian community of salmon fishermen, mill workers, and boat builders in the early 1900s. Today, Ballard is a hotbed of restaurants and bars, boutiques, galleries, epic landmarks, and the Ballard Farmers Market (where we’ll no doubt be sourcing all of our seasonal flavor inspiration).
Creative ice cream flavors crafted from local, organic ingredients dished out in a buzzy parlor.

we went for the ice cream tacos but they ran out; had the salty caramel and it was Rich and smooth;
The waffle cone was a bit stale though as I expected it to be fresh
I actually really like the “ghost” sorbet flavor in October.
People who work there are really nice and you can get as many samples as you want before ordering.
Some seats inside along the window and bench area.
They have a standard selection of flavors, all of which are delicious, plus a solid list of seasonal flavors. Be warned that a lot of the flavors are unique, often savory combinations that you wouldn’t normally expect in ice cream, but give them a chance. The staff is super friendly and will let you try as many samples as you want, shame-free.
There’s a large selection of vegan options, but usually not a ton of flavors which are both vegan and gluten-free, which can be a little disappointing for folks with a lot of dietary restrictions.
The line can get quite long, but it’s well worth the wait (and it moves quicker than you’d think, especially when the breeze is wafting out of the smell of delicious waffle cones).
Update: I got to try their new Tacolate—a collaboration with Taco Bell—and it is very tasty. They nail the ratios and the ice cream is delicious, just as you’d expect. Plus, they include these cute little “hot sauce” packets like what you’d find at Taco Bell, but they’re filled with yummy sweet flavors instead. Super creative and I’d highly recommend it!
As we were sitting in the shop enjoying our ice cream, a homeless (?) lady walked in, barged past my wife who was looking into the cooler at the flavors and proceeded to steal 5 pints of ice cream (over $50 worth of product). After the shock wore off, we went back to eating our ice cream. 5 minutes later, a man (also homeless?) came in and did the same thing!
The shop was fairly busy, so we assumed the workers didn’t know this was happening. When we went and told them, they acknowledged that they not only know it is happening, but that they don’t care and can’t do anything about it.
As full price paying customers it made me think, “Why am I paying my hard earned money for ice cream if this establishment is totally okay with people coming in and stealing ice cream for free? Why should I have to pay for my ice cream?” I don’t want to support an establishment that passes off the cost of stolen product due to lack of common sense enforcement to the “normal paying customers”. Ridiculous. Won’t be back.
I think they have really cool flavors but they don’t necessarily pop out, still good though.
