This unique ice cream parlor is tucked in a beautiful new commercial center that is pet-friendly and features services and food offerings that have better ingredients apart from offering many new and unusual flavors to explore! I personally loved the banana foster, tacolate, hoppy apple cider, death by chocolate and coffee love nuts! Our newly adopted rescue husky made short work of one of their human-grade pup cups as a treat!

I really hate going to the Uncommons because they’ve made parking so darn difficult (I mean, come on, don’t make us PAY to come here if we stay over an hour), but I do make the annoying trek just for Salt & Straw ice cream. I love ice cream, and this is some of my favorite in the world, hands down.

First off, it’s expensive. Like crazily so. But I think the quality is well worth it! And splurge for that waffle cone, especially if you hit them up when they’re making them fresh. It’ll change your life.

The flavors here change and rotate often, so you never know what you’re going to find. This adds to the excitement for me, although I always seem to gravitate towards the same two flavors: Chocolate Gooey Brownie and Salted Malted Cookie Dough. Be sure to check out their “last chance” flavors as well as any specials of the month. They’ll let you sample as much as you desire, which can totally get out of hand since everything sounds so appealing.

No matter when you go, even in the dead of winter, there’s going to be a line. It moves reasonably fast, so be patient. I promise it’s worth the wait (and the cost).

The ice cream is so rich and thick and creamy, and I have never had a flavor I didn’t like. Even the more exotics like the blue cheese with pear or rosemary olive oil have their quirky appeal. I would say most folks opt for more mainstream flavors, but make sure you at least try one of the oddball offerings.

The last time I was here, it was quite chilly outside, but we found a spot to sit outside next to a firepit. I loved eating ice cream next to a fireplace: sounds about right to any real ice cream lover, LOL.

Part of the struggle and hassle of getting to Salt & Straw is its location. It’s tucked away in the Uncommons, which makes it a real pain in the behind to find. Once you run the gauntlet and get there, your tummy and taste buds will be in frozen, creamy heaven! Just go. You can thank me later!

Delicious but very expensive icecream, over 30 dollars for 3 cones. They do have unique flavors and homemade waffle cones which were so good and freshly made.

I have been a fan of Salt & Straw since my first experience at the Abbot Kinney location in 2016, and over the years, I made a point of visiting scoop shops while traveling. Of course, I was thrilled when they announced their Las Vegas debut, and my first visit to the UnCommons location was just a week after they opened in June 2023.

We have made more than twenty visits since its opening, usually to sample the characteristically unique flavors of their Monthly Menu Series, enjoy a scoop or two with their equally amazing freshly-made waffle cones or bowls, or pick up a few pints. Every month, I look forward to the new and returning flavors, diving enthusiastically into the story and details behind each concoction. I really appreciate the creativity!

While stellar customer service is the standard at Salt & Straw, one team member in particular, Marissa, has been truly exceptional. She is an incredibly lovely person whose warmth, kindness, and professionalism has created a lasting impression. Earlier this year, on a particularly difficult day, my husband and I came in for a much-needed respite at our favorite ice cream shop, and we had the most wonderful experience with Marissa. That short, yet meaningful connection brightened our day immensely and really solidified our love of Salt & Straw. After that meeting, she promptly remembered and acknowledged us during our next visit, and every visit after that, and makes us feel so welcome. We’re always excited to see her!

My favorite Salt & Straw flavors (so far): Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache, Wild-Foraged Berry Slab Pie, Strawberry Pretzel Salad, Black Olive Brittle & Goat Cheese, Mom’s Mango Pie, Red’s Cookie Platter with Eggnog Custard, Pots of Gold & Rainbows, Snap N’ Crackle Marshmallow Treats, Captain’s Berried Treasure, OffLimits Zombie with Coconut & Pandan, Birthday Cakes & Blackberries, Cornflake Cookies with Marionberry Jam, The Great Candycopia, Gingerbread Cookie Dough, Coconut Cherry Pie with Almond Crust, Vanilla Apple Custard Tart, Apple & Cheddar Cinnamon Rolls, Peach Jam Miso Blondies, Pear & Blue Cheese, Arbequina Olive Oil.

The Best Ice Cream and the Best People!
I absolutely love Salt & Straw! The ice cream is always incredible every flavor is unique, rich, and full of creativity. But what really makes this place special is the people. Marissa, who works there, always greets everyone with such warmth and genuine enthusiasm. You can tell she really loves what she does, and it makes the whole experience that much sweeter!
The team is always happy to let you sample different flavors (dangerous, because they’re all amazing), and they keep the vibe so friendly and fun. Huge thanks to Marissa and the rest of the crew for making every visit feel like a treat not just for my taste buds, but for my day. Can’t wait to come back!

I had Salt and Straw recently and I tried the samples of the unique flavors and got a cup of the Chocolate Brownie . First with the Olive Oil ice cream, it didn’t taste that great and tasted very bad. Secondly for the Tomato Pie ice cream, it actually tasted nice for some reason but just be warned of the bad aftertaste. Thirdly for the Pear and Blue Cheese ice cream wich was actually good with a sweet and slightly salty taste and I don’t even like Pears and I hate Blue Cheese. Before ending the crazy flavors the Strawberry Black Pepper had some taste Which I think I had something similar before. Lastly I got the chocolate Brownie ice cream, the ice cream was creamy stretchy and sweet and I think Salt and straw is actually decent.

Salt and Straw in the new uncommon is a must visit. Nice variety of sorbets, ice creams and lots of other snacks. Plenty of setting room inside or out. I found prices to be on the high side as one scoop of the snickerdoodle & cinnamon in a very small cup was over 8 bucks. It was delicious but about the size of a tennis ball. They offer the golf ball size too which I figured was too small. They did not have cake cones and only offer the waffle cones or cups.

We have visited a new ice cream shop located in southwest Las Vegas inside the new development called UnCommons .
Unfortunately we weren’t not impressed with the taste of the ice cream. Maybe it was just our selection of flavors, but it didn’t fancy our taste buds at all!
I think that ice cream should be sweet, not salty and flavorless. I think it is a little over hyped , because there was no special taste to any of the flavors. Also , it is overpriced and definitely not worth the money.
That being said, it’s the reason for the 3 stars. But the store is nice , no seating area inside the store, but there are plenty of seating options outside in the shade.
The customer service was excellent. Everyone was very energetic, helpful and friendly.
Overall: if you like a simple traditional creamy and sweet ice cream this place is not for you.

Fantastic ice cream shop! The ice cream tasted pretty creamy, flavorful, and real. I love that they put a little salt in the ice cream so I won’t feel tired of the taste too soon. It was a good quality ice cream.

The cost is a little bit pricey but nowadays most high quality creamery / ice cream places are the same.

Customer service was great. The staff asked me if I wanted to try any samples right away instead of rushing me to kill the line.

I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family!
