You’re just too expensive to serve subpar brisket.
What was wrong:
– The brisket was dry and that’s the worst thing you can do to brisket.
– The Mac and cheese was creamy but not cheesy. I guess it was more roux than cheese.
– The brussel sprouts had good color but again were very bland. Cook it with bacon, pork belly, infused olive oil… Something other than plain oil and air.
I just can’t recommend this food at this price. It was mediocre at best. Which is not what I would expect for what you charge.
I really liked the brisket sandwich, it was flavorful and satisfying. The beans and sauces, however, weren’t my favorite, and I felt the $10 glass of white wine was a little steep for what it was. That said, the vibe of the place and the quality of the main dishes made up for it, and I’d definitely come back, especially for the brisket.
The inside is open and inviting, plenty of room to move around. We were there on a rainy Sunday afternoon and very few people were there. Once our waitress finally showed up, it was mildly obvious she didn’t want to stay too long. She was far from rude, but her visits were very quick, and she made no attempt to connect or have chit chat. Again, it was rainy outside and dead inside, so we were lost as to why the cold shoulder.
Our food arrived very quick. We did order the brisket ravioli and they were pretty tasty. I’ve been to a couple of their other locations and I feel like the bbq beans were not in line with what I’d had previously. The muffin/popper things were a little dry and quite possibly from the day before. All of the meat selections were very tasty though. And we were offered periodic refills, while dirty plates were also cleaned during our meal.
Atmos/Service:
We walked in on a Friday night (which wasn’t packed). The atmosphere was inviting, warm, and the servers/bartenders were very attentive. I especially appreciated the bourbon wall.
Food:
We started out with some of the best beef fat fries I have ever had in my life, so my expectations were pretty high. Unfortunately the rest of the food did not deliver.
We ordered a la carte meat and had a rack of ribs and a brisket. Both of them were dry, and the rib sauce was mediocre. It was really disappointing for a restaurant that, by all other accounts, we really liked. Please, I hope that your meat is better next time or else your business is in trouble.
