Nice location and atmosphere. Very fast, friendly service. Loved that there’s a dedicated gluten free menu!

The pulled pork was great but the brisket was dry and the ribs were just okay. Would probably skip those two next time. The fries were good and I liked the My Sweet Bestie sauce. Potato salad was just okay.

I have celiac disease and there aren’t a ton of restaurants available to me, so I’m happy to have Salt + Smoke close by!

This is Salt + Smoke’s newest location, in Downtown Kirkwood. I tried their South County location months ago, and found it disappointing. We tried again today and stopped in for lunch.

Positives first: this is a bright and airy location. It’s decorated well, it’s spacious and it is clean. The waitress we had, Sierra, was friendly and gave us free refills. Sadly, the host and other people we dealt with were not friendly or personable, so it seems the staff is hit or miss.

The food was good, but not spectacular. My Mom got the Pulled Chicken Sandwich, and we both agreed that it was missing something. The Pimento Cheese and Corn Relish that came with it lacked flavor. I got the BLT, and it tasted like something I could have made at home for $5. The Beef Fat Fries were delicious though.

Once again, underwhelmed but not fully against Salt + Smoke. I just don’t see the appeal, maybe it’s just me.

This location just opened up a few days ago. We decided to try the hushpuppies to start, they were fresh and fantastic. Next course, we tried a plethora of sides that include fries, slaw, mac and cheese, beans, and got the burnt ends, brisket and ribs. Let me tell you, it was all delicious. Hot, fresh, and came out so quickly.

I would like to give an extra shout out to the service here. They were prompt, friendly and made sure they checked on us multiple times. My daughter accidentally spilled an iced tea and they went out of their way to offer to refresh our drinks and any plates that got wet.

The location is prime, the bbq is hot and fresh, and service is stellar. Highly recommend.

Just opened up. I had the cheeseburger and brisket chili and it was delicious! Fast and friendly service. Outdoor seating with trains that occasionally pass by. They have BBQ and other excellent food options!

On a surprisingly beautiful February evening we were looking for a patio to enjoy a meal, and this Salt + Smoke location delivered! The food was delicious, the service was friendly and prompt, and you can’t argue with that sunset. We will happily be back for more delicious wings, fried pickles, pulled pork, and brisket.

The brisket and burnt ends were good. They were nearly out of burnt ends so I got fewer of those then I would have liked. I need to order earlier before they run out next time. The brisket was moist. I did not need any sauce because this brisket stands alone as a good brisket should. If it needs sauce it isn’t good brisket. If I measure it against other brisket I have had…It’s probably a 7 out of 10. (I make the best I’ve ever had).

Because the brisket didn’t need sauce – I didn’t try any.

The wings are good as well.
The brisket and pimento ravioli were done very well. Very crunchy and tasty. I liked them and found them to be a nice change for BBQ.

The white cheddar Mac n cheese for me was unremarkable. If offered with brisket or bacon as a mix in – it would be next level.

All in all I recommend Salt + Smoke.

My family and I ate here for lunch and it was fantastic. They said it was their opening weekend. The place looked great and all the staff was super nice. Our server Lisa was awesome and everyone made us feel very welcome. My wife had the Caesar salad, my son had the burger and I had the pulled pork sandwich. We all had the fries with our meals which are to die for. Will definitely be going back again and again.

The new location looks great! Our food came out fast and was delicious. Our server, Kayla, was very accommodating to us, even though it was a busy evening! She had a great attitude, has an infectious smile, and my partner and I hope we get her again!

Some of the best vegetarian sandwiches I have ever had were from barbeque spots so I tend to get excited when I see one on the menu – I know, weird, right? Sadly can’t say the same for Salt & Smoke. Their falafel burger is one of those burgers meat places stick on a menu just to placate the one vegetarian in the group. It’s the kind of burger that makes you feel sad you are the one vegetarian in the group 🙂 on top of that there were barely any toppings on it – literally 2 tiny pieces of arugula or some type of lettuce and a tiny tab of tomato jam – it was almost unbelievable. Their kale salad was good though so if you are a vegetarian who ends up here for some reason go that route & skip the falafel burger. Also skip the vegetarian fries.

Best bbq in St louis!! Ribs are cooked perfectly. Brisket is tender and sliced thick… as God intended it. Everything was very well priced for what you get. Will Definately be back!!
