Absolutely wholesome experience at Salt N Pepper. The food was incredibly delicious but the abula truly stole the show. Every bite felt authentic and comforting. The atmosphere instantly reminded me of home, from the warm welcome to the familiar aromas and vibes that make you feel like you’re back in Nigeria. To top it all off, the owner Lekan is an absolute gem, welcoming and genuinely passionate about the food and people. This place is a true treasure for anyone craving real Nigerian food. I’ll be back again!

Salt and Pepper used to be my go-to spot. I’ve brought so many people here over the years – my mother-in-law, friends, even just random hangouts. The food has always been their strong point, and I won’t lie, it’s still good. But the service? These days, it’s a real letdown.

Nowadays, it feels like there’s only one male server doing everything – taking orders, serving food, attending to customers. I don’t know if the staff are overworked or what is going on behind the scenes, but the change is obvious and recent. There used to be at least two ladies helping, now it just feels like a one-man show. The last time I came, the tables were scattered and dirty. I actually considered walking out. The next visit, things were cleaner, but the service was still painfully slow and not welcoming at all.

And that light-skinned bald guy at the front desk? Very unfriendly. Doesn’t say much, doesn’t help much. In fact, he almost adds to the frustration.

Food business is hospitality business – it’s not just about what’s on the plate. You can have the best jollof rice in the world, but if the service is poor, people won’t come back. At this rate, I might just stick to takeout. Sitting in has become stress.

I genuinely hope they can turn things around. I still like this place, but it’s not what it used to be.

– A disappointed but hopeful customer

Food was good BUT $31 for 3 pieces of beef & rice is a bit much. For the portion size I received the price should have been between $14-18 definitely not 31 Buckeroos. I only ordered stew beef with rice, I almost want to believe the cashier charged me incorrectly for this order. Still a good restaurant will go back to support but management lets do something with the portion size or prices..

This is the best Nigeria restaurant I have ever been to in America, everything was flavorful, the plantains were fried so good, amala was so perfect and the okra soup was a 10/10. 100% recommend. Customer service was top tier too

As someone who’s never had Nigerian food this was an incredible experience. The food was so flavorful and incredible. The mackerel was cooked to perfection. The rice was flavorful and the goat was incredible. Not to mention our incredible waitress who was so helpful and kind. I will definitely make the drive back.

I’ve had Amala in New York, Atlanta, and New Jersey—but nothing, nothing, beats the Amala I had in Dallas, Texas. Salt and Pepper. Y’all are different! The Amala melted in my mouth, the meats were unbelievably soft, and that cold Malt drink to wash it all down? Perfection. The host was super friendly, the service was fast, and everything about this place just hit the spot. I’m not looking anywhere else—this is my go-to from now on. Thank you, Salt and Pepper. I’m satisfied… no, over satisfied!

My family and I went to Salt n pepper kitchen to enjoy some Nigerian dishes. The meals we ordered were delicious and the portions were quite large and very filling. I ordered the Amala & Meat Okro while others ordered Abula and Amala & Ogbono! The obstacles in all the soups were tenderly cooked, so good and easy to chew. With things like cowleg sometimes I get worried it might not get cooked soft enough but in this case, it was cooked real well. We will definitely be back to enjoy more of their meals!

My boyfriend and I went to Salt and Pepper this evening with a large group of friends. First things first, the server accommodated our large party almost immediately when he saw us trying to arrange tables to fit everyone. He brought out an extra large table, linens, and rest the chairs. To the server, thank you so much for your kindness and patience, I really appreciate it!

I ordered the White Rice and Beans with Ayamase stew & plantain while my boyfriend got the Efo Elegusi Soup.

I ordered my dish based off a good friends recommendation. The dish was good but far too spicy for me. It has a lot of flavor combinations you can make with all the elements on the plate. The meat within the stew was very good!

The Elegusi my boyfriend ordered was amazing! He says this was the best Elegusi he’s had and I agree. It was the perfect amount of spice, the beef was tender, and the pounded yam was also the perfect consistency.

We shared one another’s dishes and enjoyed them both equally. Our meals combined totaled to about $53 before tip.

This restaurant has a very large menu with a wide range of dishes to choose from. I highly recommend trying this location out if looking for some great authentic African food. Hope this helps!

Abula with goat meat is $38, it is their staple and always DELICIOUS. If you’re dining out, make sure to order ahead as it usually takes 25+minutes. I always get good customer service from the staff.
