Hands down the best breakfast I’ve had in years, possibly ever. The passion for what they’re doing is evident from every employee and the owner was walking around talking to customers.
The shrimp and grits was new to me and it was so savory. Worth taking the chance with something new.
The early bright was like an entire plate of flavor stacked on top of a biscuit. Tasted like a classic and brought the taste buds somewhere familiar and knocked it out of the park.
Almond iced coffee was great.
House coffee was awesome, the dishes for the cream and sugar were fun.
Caesar salad with the biscuit croutons and egg was an exciting spin on a Caesar.
Salt Block is a small venue that delivers on excellence. HIGHLY recommend, I’ll be back!

I’ve stepped back in time! Literally and figuratively. Here for our high school reunion and decided to check out East Third Street restaurants and WOW! THIS PLACE!!! Everything so fresh and homemade. The hand pie was spectacular. We split it and had biscuits to start. Phyllis had the thyme and I had the buttermilk, both amazing and served warm with honey and butter. They have an excellent assortment of teas if that’s your preference. We had coffee and it was just like the coffee you’d get at old time diners. This place is hip old school and the vibe nostalgic. The FOOD, though!!! The attentive, fun wait staff made the whole experience so great. Glad we stopped in and we’ll be back before we head home.

I am so happy my husband found this beautiful and unique place downtown for lunch. I loved the atmosphere and the ladies behind the counter were so friendly. The food we received was absolutely delicious. The different flavors of my dish danced around on my palette and it seemed like there was always something new with every bite. We got some blueberry cobbler to go and we are definitely looking forward to enjoying that later. Yes, the prices are higher but so worth it as it’s not every day you find a hidden gem like this that makes food from scratch AND amazing! Keep up the great work.

I am going to dream about this food. I had the cinnamon blueberry cornbread, a chicken cordon bleu meat pie, and peach cobbler. I am salivating just thinking about the absolute perfection of each bite! The flakiness of the puff pastry, the meld of flavors, the honey mustard glaze. Chef’s kiss! I can’t wait to come back and try more menu items because everything else looked as delicious as mine tasted! Justin and his staff were amazing and the ambiance was cheerful and thoughtful. So.good.

Really excellent. The ladies there were really great. Excellent service and info. Lots of specials and unique items. The food was outstanding and folks there all looked like they a really enjoyed their food. What a combo. Great service and great food. It’s a tad pricy but well worth the premium for such a great lunch.
No hesitation that I would go back.

Such a cute spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch or an early dinner. I noticed they use a lot of vintage corningware dishes and the whole vibe is very much like a time capsule. The dishes are mostly comfort food types of open-biscuit stuff, often incorporating canned/tinned fish. The salmon was SO GOOD! They also have delicious baked goods here. Attentive and friendly, hard working waitress too! I highly recommend giving Salt Block a try.

Excellent food and pleasant ambience! The biscuits and gravy and lox sandwich were delicious and fresh. We didn’t try the pastries but the portions looked generous.

Justin and staff are all amazing! I live 25 minutes away and the drive is well worth it! Today I had the Coastal Crab Dip with Cheddar Bay Biscuits, Sweet Honey on the Lox and Smoked Salmon Hash. Everything was delicious and probably the best biscuits I’ve ever had. Don’t forget about their desserts, I haven’t had a bad meal here. Keep up the great work!!

Just wow. The service was phenomenal, the host/server was so charming and pleasant. We started off with the blueberry cornbread, but the star of the show was the breakfast: I got the farm boy (can I buy that herb aioli?!) and my husband got the special, a berries and cream strata. Best breakfast we’ve had in a long time. What a way to kick off our 10 year anniversary!!

This restaurant is a must try! The food is absolutely amazing and made from scratch. We tried the blueberry cornbread to start. It came served with handmade butter and warm. Perfect combination of sweet and salt and the little bit of crunch from cinnamon sugar on top, yum! We got a slice to take home for later. The Caesar Salad is the best I have had in a long time. The use of cheesy biscuits instead of croutons makes this salad so special. We each got a different entree: Smoked Butternut Squash Lasagna, Tomato Caprese Salad, and Orchard Chicken Salad. It was all amazing. I’m pretty sure there is nothing on the menu that isn’t delicious. Hats off to the chef! We will be back!
