Ay! Caramba! Brewster’s newest fast food restaurant is finally open.
I took my son as he’s an expert in this cuisine, “Fast Mex”.
We found Salsa Fresca to be okay. It’s a new building so that’s nice, but the food itself was as you would expect; hard to say how fresh the meat is, I assume they cook on site but didn’t see any sign of it. I felt like it was slightly smaller portions and a bit more expensive than Chipotle, although there’s no Chipotle nearby, so…
Did have a couple issues with the staff, there seems to be a communication issue/language barrier as several of the servers didn’t speak any English at all. It would be nice to see more job opportunities for local high school students in the area.
Also, one staff member was wiping down the metal tables with a wet towel, and didn’t dry any off, so they remained a bit wet and nasty for the 30 minutes that we were there.
One piece of marketing advice, the AI auto replies on your reviews are not relevant, they don’t make sense. Makes you look inauthentic.
Overall, this location will do fine, thanks to a high level of traffic on route 22. Definitely not a threat to Fiesta Mexicana, right down the road.

I ordered lunch when I was in my office in Danbury before I left for home, intending to order from the Salsa Fresca in Carmel, NY. When I got to the restaurant they didn’t have my order and after checking my app I realized it had switched to the nearest restaurant which was Danbury. That is when the manager Caesar walked up and said no problem, we’ll make it for you here. He asked me for my name and called the Danbury restaurant and explained it to them. That is great customer service! Also, the burrito is KILLER!!!

I saw this restaurant, I was surprised by how tasty the food was. The best nachos I’ve ever had, 100% better than Chipotle. Fresh food and very friendly staff.

I go here every so often, and it’s a nice spot, but one particular order has gotten me quite annoyed.
I made an order for takeout, and there was a hole in the bottom of the bowl that I was given. By the time I gotten home, it’s soaked through the bag everywhere in my car. Also I ordered extra stuff that was charged for it, but I was not given anything. Hope it’s not a trend

I placed an online order from this restaurant through Uber Eats, but when I tried to contact them to modify my order, I couldn’t find a working phone number. They have multiple locations, and even when I managed to reach one, no one provided any help. It’s really frustrating not being able to communicate with the restaurant directly to fix a simple issue with an order.

I am in love with the BBQ Beef Quesadillas. I also love the Cilantro Lime sauce. I will often find missing items, but they are amazing when I point it out. Its also newly opened, so my hope is they will get better at making sure all items are in the bag as time goes on. Still love love love the food, I just make sure to check my order when picking up.

I’m shocked by all of the negative reviews. I’ve been going to Salsa Fresca since they opened in Danbury and I was so excited for the Brewster one since I live so close. All of the employees in this new location are so sweet, always smiling and welcoming. The seating area is clean, and behind where they cook is immaculate. The food is always fresh and hot. I’m not understanding how so many reviews are saying they do not give large portions.. what?! My burrito had to be at least a pound, and my husband’s bowl was massive, my kids tacos were loaded and they couldn’t even finish them. I want to know where and what portion size these people are comparing these to. And for the reviews about the language barrier; get a grip. It’s so easy to communicate and to help each other understand what you are saying. I don’t speak a lick of Spanish but I’ve never had an issue understanding any employees or having them understand me. (Many who work here also work at the Danbury location) And in regard to the review of the person complaining about how jobs should be made available for high school age students in the area instead of the employees already here working; Not many high school age kids even want to work now-a-days in food service, if anywhere at all. And besides, I’d rather have a Spanish speaking immigrant who cares about their job that actually knows how to cook this delicious food, and keep a clean restaurant over a high school aged kid who doesn’t care to learn. We will definitely be regulars here!

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!! 0/5 STARS IF I COULD!!
ok this place is actually disgusting, food was cold and undercooked! very nasty and I got extremely sick from it. The portions were sooooo tiny too!! I paid 30$ for a burrito among other things! I had to ask the girl prepping my food to adjust things many times because she didn’t understand, then the manager came over and said no other corrections can be made!!! Ugh regrets, I should have walked out right there!. So much CHEAPER, SAFER AND BETTER OFF GOING TO CHIPOTLE!!! And their rewards programs suck too! I’m always getting BETTER DEALS AT CHIPOTLE, I can’t even contact the company to get in touch. Good riddance! This entire chain fell off in the last 2 years.
