Stopped in for the first time while having date night and was not disappointed.
First and foremost, Michelle was awesome. She had a party of 14 she was serving as well as another table and our drinks never went empty. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and checked in consistently.
Hubs had the prime rib – medium rare, mac n cheese, and street corn with tajin. I had the 8oz center cut sirloin – upper medium because I’m preggers, sweet potato, and street corn. He also had a margarita and I had a pina colada mocktail (couldn’t tell it wasn’t the real deal). Every. Single. Thing was delicious.
Restaurant itself could use a bit of decoration. But overall, it’s a great place and we will be back.

I’ve eaten here a couple times and each time the food’s been absolutely delicious. These are the best ribs that i’ve had so far. I’m always suggesting this restaurant to my friends.

Epic!
Service from Taylor was the best in the state!! Thanks so much gorgeous girl!
Loved the ribs and steak plate – I haven’t tasted a tastier steak ever EVER. Yes, it was on the thin side but I do feel this is how this piece of steak was meant to be enjoyed. It was perfect.
Loved the sides and took the apple pie home.
Can’t wait to come back and try the tacos and some other more Mexican dishes .
Well worth the week waiting to visit. Thanks girls.

As you pull up it might give you second thoughts, but when you first walk in you’re greeted by the hospitality of you’d expect from your grandparents. As you pick through the menu and gaze at the 1990s decor you’re overwhelmed by the sounds and smell of sizzling steaks and seasonings. With the order of a rare sirloin and steak street tacos, the pure delight of flavor you get when sinking your teeth into the food, is above satisfactory. Highly recommend stopping here to eat.

The best steak I’ve had in a long time! My wife and I didn’t try the Mexican side of the menu, perhaps the next time we go. We will definitely be back! P.s. The rolls are fantastic too! My wife and I have been back and everything was outstanding! Five stars plus! We don’t get to Pikeville very often but take it from me you are missing out on some great food if you don’t try this restaurant when you are in the area!!!

We and the blooming onion and jalapeno rellenos, they were jalapeno poppers, nothing special as an appetizer the onion was good. My husband ordered the smokehouse burger and I had the Tropical fajitas. My food was good, nothing to write home about though. My husbands burger had a sour off putting taste to it, he couldn’t even get half way through it. Won’t be returning here.

This is an amazing place to get a bite to eat! There Steak is the best in town and you have definitely got to give their Mexican Street Corn a try! We rate their steak better than Texas Roadhouse, hands down!!!
The new Loaded Onion Blossom is out of this world! We were very skeptical of a “loaded onion blossom” but decided to give it a try and we will never eat a blooming onion any other way again!
The staff, food, and atmosphere is the best ever! We keep coming back for more.
Justin deserves recognition for sure because he is always very friendly, provides excellent customer service, and is very knowledgeable of the menu items. He is a top notch employee and as business owners ourselves we know he is a great asset to make Sal’s the best and a great experience for their customers.

Food was amazing and staff was very kind. Was a short wait for the food and everything was fresh and hot. The southwestern burger was just amazing. And the rolls smothered in butter? Hot , fluffy, and just delicious. Would highly recommend Sals over other restaurants in the area.

Maybe it was just too busy and they were understaffed when we went back in February? (I’m just now writing a review in March) But the service and the food just wasn’t that great. I’ve heard wonderful about Sal’s ever since it got put in. We finally went and we just didn’t get waited on much, we hardly got refills, took FOREVER to get our food ordered, and when we did get our food, it just wasn’t that great. They also had to keep opening and closing the doors to get the smoke out of the building because I’m guessing they have no ventilation for all the smoke from the grills? I probably wont be returning.

Best ribs in the world. In the Pikeville area there is always a 2 hour wait at the Texas Roadhouse but you can always walk right in and get a table at Sal’s. The food is ten times better and half as cheap. Service is always great. My wife and I eat there every week and it’s never more than $35 and there is usually enough left over for both of us to eat again at least once.
