Thanks for the amazing Pizza!
1. Ordered two slices and waited 20 minutes to find out they didn’t put the pizza in the oven.
2. After asking about pizza 20 minutes later, they put the wrong slices in the oven so had to wait until correct pizza was put in.
3. After specifically asking for the right slices, still got the wrong pizza in the oven.
Took 4 total tries to get the correct two slices of pizza. Not sure how they can mess up the order so badly when the store was not busy during visit. Staff seems to be too busy talking to one another to pay attention to customer orders.
I wandered in with my family on a Tuesday night, and was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and incredible aroma of baking pizza.
We ordered the garlic knots and meatballs to start. The meatballs were delicious and the garlic knots were little bombs of buttery, yeasty goodness, and the garlic was robust but not overpowering. When our Grandma Style pizzas arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded.
The crust was crisp, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked together beautifully. The marinara and breadcrumbs were packed with flavor, and the mozarella had a great consistency and very little oil. By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit.
Did I mention you can by daily home made Mozzarella cheese? Can wait to enjoy it with my salad
This place is perfect for groups or a casual date night before or after the movies
Last night I had a white slice and a slice of their ‘Brooklyn Cheese’ pizza, both were pretty good. My biggest ‘complaint’ is that I feel they don’t cook the pizza long enough. I’m expecting the undercarriage to be crispy and have that crunch, I rarely get that at Sal’s.
But like I said, if you’re looking for a quick slice of pizza, you can’t go too wrong at Sal’s.
Service is fine, pricing is okay. Small location so I like to take out. Try it out next time you’re in the area.
Saturday is my pizza day and I look forward to the weekly treat. I was visiting the area, so I decided to order a Nonna Lucia Grandma Pie at Sal’s, given the very positive reviews.
It was hot and the ingredients seemed reasonable quality, but the bland taste (couldn’t see or taste the oregano or parmesan, and the “fresh basil” was somehow flavorless) and the impossible to cut or bite [frozen?] crust was a disaster. And it cost $24 for a 12” pie?!
Sorry, Sal, but Papa John’s has you beat.
