The food came out quick.
The marina sauce looked homemade and it tasted a bit spicy. It was good.
The meatballs were bland and had no flavor. The spaghetti seemed a bit overcooked
Overall I would not recommend the spaghetti and meatballs. A different dish might be better.
Maybe the pizza is good idk. I haven’t had it.

I hate to leave bad reviews but this was truly bad. We ordered online calamari, wings and a small pizza.
The calamari was clearly fried in old oil and the wings were nothing short of petrified. The pizza was ice cold (actually everything was) and even hot would have been edible at best. Expectations weren’t super high, but we expected FAR better than this.
It will be a long time before we try an order like this from anywhere else.

Update: I am giving Sal’s NY Pie 5 stars now because they took my comment about the sauce and changed it to a yummy thick marinara sauce!! These gentlemen aim to please! Free garlic knots with a $20 purchase too! My husband’s favorite along with the fried mushrooms.

Many restaurants have come and gone in this little corner and Sal’s NY Pie is the latest to open here. This one is a keeper. We enjoyed wings and zucchini fries, salad and a beautiful calzone. We have gone back three times for calzones. They even opened for us after fireworks July 4th so we could get calzones to go. The crew is very kind and grateful to have customers. They just need a good marinara sauce for the calzones. The sauce they serve tastes like chunky spaghetti sauce. Not easy to dip the calzone in.
There are several negative comments about how this restaurant opened. It would be unusually expedient for anyone to be able to get a rental agreement and permits in the short amount of time since the unfortunate kitchen fire (at Sal’s on Pleasurehouse). Maybe they were already planning to open this restaurant. There are many Sal’s in Hampton Roads just like there are many Jade Garden Chinese restaurants. All different owners. Similar menues, not a problem unless the menue was copyright protected. We could find a similar menu at a dozen other restaurants not named Sal’s. Plenty of customers to go around. When AJ reopens Sal’s on Pleasure House, we will eat there too! He has the best marinara sauce! But please don’t drive this business to the ground with gossip. Everyone needs a chance to work. Give them a try!

Fabulous pizza and cheesecake! After we gorged ourselves on the fresh hot pizza we finished off the cheesecake- some of the best I’ve ever tasted!! About an hour later, we were wishing we had taken another slice of cheesecake home. We ordered an 18 inch pizza so we had leftovers of that.
The pizza was cooked to perfection with a crispy crust and with the correct amount of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. It was easily the best pepperoni pizza I’ve had anywhere. This place should make the list of “must eat here” in Norfolk!

I decided to try this place because of a recommendation . I ordered through instacart so I didn’t have any service connections. I ordered 1 Bianca white pizza, 1 fettuccine Alfredo, and fried mushrooms. My only critique is no one used salt in anything. I know I like salty foods and once you add it, you can’t take it back. I added garlic salt to all of them and they came to life! They got the meals done quickly which I appreciate.
The pizza was cheesy and the crust was a great thickness. Nice and thin and no Limp crust.
The mushrooms were crispy outside and soft inside. A gorgeous golden brown. The ranch is really really good!
The Alfredo was super good. It was thick enough to coat every noodle. There was no separation and a lot of good parmesan. I got extra Alfredo for the next day so it won’t be dry reheated. There was a decent amount of garlic bread and a fresh salad. The garlic bread was just a sub roll but it’s hard to mess up garlic and butter.
I’d get all of them again! Word of mouth is a pretty powerful tool. Thanks guys!

AMAZING SERVICE!!!!! I made a mistake in Door Dash and ordered “pick-up” instead of “delivery.” I called to complain about my “stolen order,” and rather than pointing out what an idiot I was, Sal’s just delivered the pizza (at their own expense), during which time I realized MY ERROR (ugh, face). This is a great pizza place with an awesome staff. I AM SORRY Sal’s for my phone rage! You were right and your pizza was drip!!

Just when I thought I had a fav pizza place’s here in Virginia Beach, well this new local place just blew my Jersey girl pizza heart out of the water yesterday!!! It truly tastes like home and I can’t wait to try the rest of their menu which looks amazing and is also very similar to NJ/NY pizzeria menus! They even have cannolis….do I say more?!?!?
