During a business trip to Madera, we discovered a noteworthy restaurant and decided to dine there. The service was exceptional, and the food was outstanding. I highly recommend a visit; you would be missing out otherwise. Furthermore, I suggest reviewing its history; its origins are quite compelling.

After hearing about Sal’s from many people, I finally gave them a try!
I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered half and half fajitas and they were great. (Only came with two tortillas though)
My friend raves about and ordered the enchiladas. I gave them a try and was surprised at how delicious they were. I regret not ordering them because “I can make my own enchilada sauce at home”, but these were delicious and the next time I go I’ll be ordering them for sure!
The staff was VERY attentive. Like to the point towards the end it was a little annoying, but honestly it was great and I didn’t mind that much because they weren’t overbearing, just checking in.
The fried ice cream was very sad though. It wasn’t freshly fried and you could tell they just grabbed it out of the freezer :(.

This was my first time visiting this location and they were very busy. Almost every table was full. Regardless of them being so busy the waittresses were extremely attentive and polite. I could see their staff constantly multi-tasking. I worked in food service for a long time and know how difficult it is to keep the place spotless during busy times and this place was kept very clean throughout. I could see the cooks in the kitchen constantly working and never losing their focus. The food came oit piping hot and fresh. It tasted great. It was also a large enough portion that I am going to turn this into at least three meals. Great job Sal’s. I will definitely revisit.

They had good pricing for the account of food. Great selections available. I love the combination plate being able to try different foods. The quesadilla and rice was flavorful. Salsa was nice and spicy. The taco was blander. Tamale has a nice sauce. Service was quick and consistent. No long wait.

This Sal’s location is good and has great service. Food has that good home cooking love. I always get the ground beef enchilada combo and add sour cream. Their chips and salsa here is delicious.

Sal’s has to be one of my favorite restaurants in Madera.
The service is always wonderful and the food always delicious. Everything here is delicious but I definitely recommend the custom burrito with the carne con chile and your choice of sides and the Enchiladas suizas.

I can summarize in one word “disappointing”. We were here years ago and it was amazing full of flavor and worth the strip mall cramped dining experience. This time it was very “americanized” bland food, I had to drown it in salsa to get some flavor. The whole pointvof a strip mall dining is the food or the price. Its not the service or the atmosphere, sadly they failed both. The food was mediocre at best abd the list was high. Just disappointed all around.

Not my first time here, but I needed to be sure, food is ok, definitely not so great, tacos were decent, best than the enchiladas and the nachos, the enchiladas suizas could have more sauce, which in reality that’s the main point of that type of enchiladas, the nachos could have better flavor, for some reason they were bland so yeah. The service is good. Overall, I don’t think I would come back.

Ordered Carl’s Burrito and Completo Tostadas with carne asada. The tostada tasted okay. The meat is a bit dry and bland. The shredded meat and sauce on the burrito are flavourful and tasted really good. Fast service. The server was very attentive.

They had incredibly dirty dishes and extremely smeared cutlery. The service was horrible I had to wait 25 minutes for a refill of my water and a extra 10 for my order to be taken, it was not overly packed and it was decently empty and yet they still took a long time. Our table was dirty and the food took almost 30 minutes to get to us. The food was horrible a sad joke for Mexican food, my burrito was plain, a complete lack of seasoning, I could go from the lack of flavor in the rice to the dry clearly old meat to the store bought tortillas, this place is a mess and when I asked for salsa they served me something that tasted like water. The quesadilla was drenched in a pool of water from the ground beef they had used, this place is truly a sad excuse for a restaurant. A former image of itself and most likely never going to return to that greatness
