This is a great spot for an early breakfast, and you can enjoy a cup of espresso while you’re there.
They also sell basic fishing gear and supplies, and in the afternoon, the bar opens—perfect for sipping a cocktail or beer at one of the outdoor deck tables while taking in the beautiful scenery.
The staff were friendly, and the clam chowder was excellent.
I needed to get some online work done using Wi-Fi, and they kindly allowed me to sit at one of the bar-side tables even though the bar wasn’t officially open in the morning. That was incredibly helpful.
It’s a place I definitely recommend, and if I visit again, I’d love to come back for another meal.

My husband, myself and our 3 children stayed in Winchester Bay on our family vacation and it was so fun. We visited all of the cafes and shops there but Salmon Harbor Cafe and Mercantile had the best food, fresh baked goods (cinnamon rolls are best I’ve had in my life), coffee bar that is up to par with every coffee shop, including Starbucks I’ve been to in CA and the best vibe. We bought the sweatshirts and mugs that come with free drinks, played on the deck and watched the sunset, ate fresh crab, relaxed in the bar…the list goes on. I brought my laptop and enjoyed the beautiful view while I worked. Salmon Hatbor Cafe is a must!!!

A friend of mine claimed…”Salmon Harbor Cafe & Mercantile has the best cinnamon rolls!” That’s a big claim, I thought. I finally made down with my Lady and some friends. Ordered cinnamon rolls, biscuits and gravy, and coffee. All yummy!! And YES! Best cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had, sorry, Aunt Dot. The peanut butter cookies are amazing too! They have a lot of other yummy looking items on the menu, we will return. They are also building a cool looking pub. Cocktails on the deck!

Feel like a local when you’re here! Had a bad day? Had a great day? Cozy on up to this family owned, friendly, entertaining community driven home away from home. The food is fresh and local. The staff is cheerful, quick and offers pleasant conversation. The shrimp and chips were perfectly crunchy. The fries are the ones you hope for, battered and bomb! Portions large and satisfying
Their bartenders are nice with great recommendations. They serve local beers and use quality ingredients in their mojitos and lemon drops.
The views are beautiful. Indoor and outdoor seating. Local trinkets and crafts for purchase as well as kites, windsocks, crab pots, and other beach seafood necessities. Don’t miss this tasty, outgoing, local spot!

I absolutely love this place. The owners are amazing, view is spectacular. Food is freaking off the charts delightful. Sweet treats are equally delightful. I ate the whole carrot cake. Shh. I couldn’t help it. Bar inside is so comfortable and has a view of the bay for an amazing sunset. Watch from inside or outside on the deck. Anytime you are going to be near this spot stop in. Chad and Liz are an absolute delight. Stop here you will be so happy you did. They also offer Glutton Free options.

Best ever fish and chips outside of England! And the onion rings were delicious! Add to that a glass of dry white Oregon wine and a beautiful sunset … really what Else is there?

This place was absolutely amazing! The food was incredibly fresh and full of flavor—hands down some of the best seafood I’ve had. The service was just as impressive: friendly, attentive, and welcoming without feeling rushed. The atmosphere was beyond clean, comfortable, and so inviting, which made the whole experience even better. You can truly tell they care about quality and their guests. I can’t wait to come back and will definitely be recommending this spot to everyone!!

Very cozy and well appointed bar. Knowledgeable, friendly and attentive staff. Best Chowder in the Winchester Bay area. Chowder was the perfect texture, creamy, herby (possibly thyme) with lovely clam taste. We tried 5 different chowders over the weekend and within walking distance of our lodging. We also got cinnamon rolls (recommended by the girl at Crabby’s)and a pecan sticky bun. We loved the treats and nibbked them all weekend. Tasty from first to last bite. Prices were very reasonable and we look forward to trymore on our next visit to the area.
