Social Profile:

Salmon Bay Café’s hip and fun staff serve traditional American breakfasts, lunch and dinner, great coffee, and beer, wine, or cocktails from our full bar. No small plates, no gastro-novelties-Ballard already has plenty of joints like that. Our goal is to offer something different: comfort food with home-cooked deliciousness. Great meals at great value! C’mon down to the waterfront and check out working-man’s Ballard: fisherman-sized omelets, habit-forming seafood benedicts, two-fisted sandwiches and full plates for hearty appetites. We have great veggie options, too. We bake to-die-for muffins on the weekends and we’ve got plenty of free parking-how many restaurants in Ballard could say that?

Easygoing waterfront eatery serving a large selection of American fare for breakfast & lunch.

Classic diner with your breakfast staples. I love the water views which was nice to take in as we ate. Parking wasn’t as easy to find but I eventually discovered spots on the side of the road.

Portion sizes are pretty sizable and decently priced. I would definitely eat here again.

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast. It was a great find. The food was good, and not crazy expensive.
The music playlist was great, as well. The server was very friendly. It’s a great little breakfast spot right by the water.

Food was disappointing A diner chicken fried steak is always a welcome guilty pleasure and this steak was pretty good. The eggs and hashbrowns were cold though.

I was ignored the entire time by the wait staff, drinks were empty throughout most of my meal and I was seated directly next to the bar.

I like the vibe of the place, ive enjoyed coming here in the past. This will be my last time.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast after a morning workout. Cute place, very diner-esque. A little on the high price side but solid overall.

Good menu, I went basic but they have a lot of interesting options including cocktails.
Decent free parking, gets full but appreciate free, especially in SEA.
Great service!
The vibe is diner but if I rate it to other diners, I like it.

This is my go-to diner in Ballard. It’s cozy, the food is always good, and the service is always welcoming with small town vibes where everyone knows everyone. It’s not always a quick bite, but it’s always comforting and tasty!

My go to lunches are the teriyaki chicken sandwich and BLT. Most people get breakfast food here and can’t go wrong with any of it!

Queen Anne omelette with a side of hollandaise and a spicy bloody mary…good breakfast and drink (the skewer spread was A+), only knocked down a star because the first coffee the cream curdled in the cup so I had to wait a bit for a replacement, would eat here again next time I’m in Seattle though!

Salmon Bay Cafe is a reliable favorite of mine. The closest thing I’ve found to a classic/old school (east coast) diner in Seattle. The food portions are sizable and the food is reliably tasty. My favorite is the Florentine Omelet. The staff is always friendly and there’s hardly ever a long wait.

This is probably a 4.5
The food is good everyone finished their plates and enjoyed their food.
The service from seating to bill was impressive.
So why not a five star? we were in a booth and the seating was tight and a little uncomfortable. So essentially, go sit anywhere else and a have a fabulous meal.
FYI – This on the side of the road and not immediatelty obvious that this is a gorgeously cute little restaurant so be warn.
It does have a small place to park but there is tonnes of street parking.

Our favorite breakfast spot in Seattle! A proper old school, cosy diner, serving generous portions of hearty food. The omelettes are always excellent and come with an abundance of potato and toast options, or a pancake if you’re feeling decadent.

Our server this morning was particularly great, he made sure we got our breakfast in a timely manner so we could catch our ferry! It’s also very reasonably priced – especially for Ballard, which is great bc it means we get to come back more often 🙂
