Easily one of the best pizzas on this planet. I’m a huge pizza fanatic and have tried all different kinds from different regions and this is top-tier quality. If you’re not familiar with the New Haven “apizza” or Neapolitan style pizza, don’t let the char appearance fool you. Think of it like a real nice cut of steak cooked to perfect perfection, the outside is seared and looks burnt, but in reality, it’s just a thin layer of crust that locks in all the flavor and you still have a nice tender inside. Lot of textures to explore, and the flavor palette is also incredible. You get nice sweet notes and full body from the San Marzano tomatoes, a nice Salty umami from the pecorino-romano, and the highest quality mozzarella. These pizzas are made with a high moisture dough and cooked at a real high temperature real fast in order to achieve their perfection. If you just want a huge cheesy, greasy, thick pizza, it won’t be for you- but if you’re the kind of Pizza fan that is open to trying all different kinds, don’t think twice because it will be one of the best experiences you’ve ever had. I’ve lived in Connecticut for about six years now and have been working my way through all of the notable pizza places, Sally’s is definitely one of the best. One final observation to note on the quality of these pizzas- Usually, if I over eat a chain pizza, or something made with inferior ingredients, id feel pretty crummy for several hours and maybe even puffy the next day- but when I’ve gone crazy and eaten a whole one of these pizzas in one night, I haven’t been left with that crummy, weighty, puffy feeling whatsoever.. a testament to the high-quality ingredients.

This place is soo good. Most people come here for the pizza which is really good but the pasta is also really good. Specifically the rigatoni vodka pasta. The sauce is heavenly. The consistency is perfect, I love the charted tomatoes and it has just the right amount of spice. It’s not too much or too little. We’ve tried vodka pasta from other places but they just don’t compare to this place. You can add protein to the pasta but it tastes amazing on it its own. Whether you eat in or takeout its still really good. My only complaint is that sometimes they don’t have rigatoni so they will give you a different pasta without informing you. The service here is good, the staff here is very polite. When you order pasta it comes out quickly but pizza takes longer (as expected). Overall this place is really good and I’m glad it’s so close to where we live. My boyfriend is obsessed.

Ordered takeout. Pizza was great but the Caesar salad was embarrassing. It was a $17 box of giant lettuce. It’s unfortunate because we’ve had this salad in the restaurant at westfarms and it was amazing. Disappointing for sure. DoorDash support is useless when this happens. $71 for a small single topping pizza, some bread, and a box of lettuce. Dominos next time I guess.

Delicious pizza! I was vising the area and a friend suggested this place because it is so well known in the region for their pizza. I believe the original is in New Haven but we went to a closer location to us in Wethersfield. They were very busy for dinner but I loved the option of leaving our names and them texting us when they were ready. We actually didn’t even wait as long as they originally told us. We tried the fried mozzarella as a starter and then split the house salad and a pepperoni pizza with basil and garlic. Everything was delicious but the star of course was the pizza. Amazing crust, and flavorful toppings. We loved everything and wish we had one closer to home!

The tomato sauce on the pizza is epic. Great arancini, too. The plain pasta for the kids was great, too; sounds simple, but lots of places screw it up, and this place doesn’t. The kids loved everything.

Haven’t made it to Sally’s in New Haven but was able to come by this newer location. The aroma when you walk in the door is intoxicating. I was so very excited to try this famous pie.
Unfortunately came out incorrect. But it was still good. Half sausage peppers and onions and half cheese. The cheese only half was delish!!!!! Even though it had onions on it (this was the mistake). The other half with the toppings had a great flavor as well but since the crust was so thin and the peppers were roasted it became very soggy. Still world class flavor but I think maybe my expectations were too high. I’ll give it another shot next time I’m in the area. Sorry for the bite taken out. I forgot to take a pic before chomping away.

Well it had stellar service! Now the bad news. I’ve had Sally’s numerous times in New Haven over the years, and even once in Fairfield. The pizza in Wethersfield had not much cheese at all & basically raw, wet tomato sauce, despite the charred edges. I was told a quality check takes place at all locations for consistency. However, this was the worst version of a Sally’s pizza I’ve ever had by far.

You just can’t beat New Haven style “ah beetz!” The pizza was great, and our waitress Katarzyna was so friendly and went above and beyond for us! I also love that they have a DJ spinning on Fridays!

I got take out. 2 pizzas. The Staff on the phone was perfect, helpful and nice. The hostess, the take out lady, and the bartender were all very nice and helpful. The issue for me was the pizza. Ill preface this by saying I like my pizza well done and I understand what char is. However the undercarriage on both my pizzas was burnt. Not “charred” or “leopard spotted”, burnt. You can see in my pictures. Despite being burnt it was somehow floppy and wet. If you enjoy the burnt taste that is so strong it drowns out the cheese and sauce then this may be your place.

This experience was not what was expected after having heard good things – the pizza crust was burnt black on half the pie and fine on the other half – as if they staff could not see that. There were more tomatoes that sauce, meat and other toppings paid for. The cheese was almost non existent and I did see that mentioned in other reviews – which is very odd for pizza unless less cheese is ordered. The waiter was as dry as I have ever seen – no personality, no welcome, never ever smiled or asked if everything was alright. The environment itself was flat – not lively from staff by any means. I expected a little more and definitely for the price we paid. My friend and I visit many different restaurants for the variety and pleasant experiences and unfortunately we did not get our monies worth here. Please always take customer reviews into consideration for improvement and not for any personal put downs. Thank you.
